You do realize that the federal government receives over $800 million annual royalty revenue from offshore production on federal leases, don’t you?
They get this with no investment and no exploration risk.
Of course, nationalizing the oil industry would allow “it” to run like the USPS and VA.

Venezuela did that, nationalized their gas. Look where that got them. The more government controls the less freedom of enterprises. A really bad idea. Perhaps if Biden would quit his war on fossil fuel gas would go down as they would be free to bring more product on line without damaging regulations and interferences.
