The Democrats will make a gigantic issue of Jan 6. I would not be surprised to see some states implement COVID restrictions as Pennsylvania recently did, and is now being sued. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Completely agree. But it's not just the fear of nuclear war. This whole situation doesn't really pass the smell test. This is not a NATO nation, Putin doesn't appear to be trying to occupy the entire country, AND the US doesn't have any skin in this game. Or do we?

There are currently 55 operating nuclear power plants in the USA alone, the majority of TVA electricity comes from nuclear.

Many have been decommissioned, and many more are due to be decommissioned in the next 5 years

You have a lot of faith in the rationality of the worlds leaders. Men who, for the most part, do not believe in a judging God, nor in an afterlife where they will be held accountable, men who are, for the most part, older and looking at their own mortality relatively soon. I see your point, but unfortunately way WAY too many of the world leaders are not rational.....including our own President.

There was too much saber rattling when trump was playing silly games with North Korea, these are true psychopaths we have running countries, and trump was certainly not a voice of reason that would have used restraint.

Back when trump was taunting the rocket man there was too much talk of a very credible idea in nuclear intelligence and threat assessment, that well placed nuclear altitude detonations would wipe out electronics and communications, rendering critical regions helpless.

nwtk, Putin is crazy, but not stupid. He knows about the truth about MAD. He can not just scream nukes, and expect the West to fold to his naked, and unprovoked aggression against a peace loving, democratic state. The next time he warns us about nukes, we should give the Ukrainians tactical nuclear weapons. It was the Russians among others that guaranteed Ukraine against aggression if they gave up nukes.
You mention that you have ties to the old country, Russia. exactly what are your ties? When my fathers family came to this blessed land from Russia, they kissed the ground of this country, and swore never to go back! I'm just wondering why you defend a murderous, dictator like Putin.

Pete, since you do not seem to realize it, you are advocating that the United States should consider STARTING a nuclear war which could conceivably destroy almost all life on Earth, probably would destroy all human life, and most certainly would destroy civilization for hundreds of years, and all over Russia invading Ukraine, a former co-state of the USSR with a huge Russian population, many of whom have family on both sides of the border.
You, my mentally unstable and psychotic friend, are doing the same thing with Putin as you did with Trump.....you have condemned them each as the ultimate evil who must be destroyed at any and all costs.....including the end of humanity.
This is not normal, and you need help, and I, too, am deadly serious.
