So the right insists that it's the mainstream media that lies...okay fine, if that's the case let's get medieval on cracking down on the lies, let's shut that evil media down by making media prove everything they represent to the public. I'm willing to take my chances on media having to prove what they represent as a standard, if it can't be proved you can't tell it to people.

But then the right says oh no, wait a minute, who gets to say what the facts are?

What part of being able to prove that a story is the truth, if it can't be proved people don't need to hear it doesn't people understand?

The right wants to hear their lies, they want that alternate reality represented, and they basically understand that those lies are over with if a standard of weeding out the lies is implemented.

You would get very few liberals or lefties that would have a problem with making the lies go away.

Exactly, major fines for lies, and losing their media broadcast licenses...being forced to retract and cover the truth as can be verified.

Truth in media laws would be no different than truth in advertising laws for manufacturers, they can't claim something that they can't prove.

We would have a different world if a major network has a standard of proof for stories...make them sit on a story until they get the proof.
