The Power of Prayer

Don’t tell me that the power of prayer and faith in God don’t work.

As a testimony to my Lord and Savior, Thursday night it appeared that during a rainstorm that our sump pump was on its last legs. It intermittently limped along as a rainstorm came down so I called several local plumbers, all who couldn’t make it to our house until the next day. I cringed each time the sump pump came on thinking that when it turned off, it might be the last time to be followed by a flooded basement.

I decided that there was only one thing to do…put my trust in Jesus and pray to Him to have everything hold out until the plumber came the next morning. Not long after that the rain and the pump stopped. Having no control in the situation, something told me to put my trust in Jesus and go to bed.

I woke up to a sunny day and immediately looked to see that the basement was still dry. A few hours later, I got a call from the plumber and he replaced the sump pump, mentioning that it had gone fully kaput and wasn’t working.

All I can say is that once I put my trust in Jesus and prayed to Him, I “knew” everything was in His hands And, even if I would have ended up with a flooded basement, He would have seen me through.

Never underestimate the power of prayer and putting your faith in Jesus Christ.

My husband had a stroke on Saturday morning. He’s in Progressive care unit, one step up from ICU…due to prayers. And I’m not sobbing because we’re all in Gods hands. As I write this, my family and I are here with him although most of the time he’s not with us.

My situation pales in comparison to yours. My prayers go out to you and your husband and remember that regardless, God will see you through this.

Whatever, atheists simply fix the frigging things themselves...if you don't believe in god you have to rely on yourself.

Atheists would call this luck, not divine intervention. I'll keep my faith in myself thank you.

Good luck with that slick. Only trouble reliance on self will be your downfall. You're not your own god.
