he Obama Administration Has Been Caught In Another Web Of Deception…

...was in the hot seat Friday as he testified before Congress regarding the scandal and allegations of a cover up.

The IRS claim that countless emails sent by former official Lois Lerner were destroyed in a hard drive crash has led to widespread speculation that the mishap was actually orchestrated to prevent a thorough investigation into the agency.

Lerner has been implicated in a scheme to unfairly scrutinize conservative organizations prior to the 2010 and 2012 election cycles. A current congressional investigation hoping to determine how many other officials were involved in the targeting has been stymied due to the loss of these vital correspondences.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen was in the hot seat Friday as he testified before Congress regarding the scandal and allegations of a cover-up. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp had some tough questions regarding the agency’s reticence in disclosing relevant information.

“The IRS knew in February or maybe even in March,” he said; “and the Treasury and the White House knew at least in April. But Congress and the American people didn’t find out until June. Were you purposely not telling us? Were you purposely not revealing this to the American people?”

While Koskinen claimed the IRS was simply waiting until a final report was completed, Camp was undeterred in his direct line of questioning.

“So why did the IRS inform the Executive Branch agencies, the White House, the administration, but kept it secret from the Congress who was conducting an investigation?”

The commissioner stuck to his talking point that “when we provide information, we should provide it completely,” explaining his apparent intent was to submit a complete report so that there would be no room for misunderstanding.

Camp retorted, “It’s OK for the White House and Treasury to leap to a conclusion six weeks before the Congress.”

When Koskinen alleged that he had no idea that such a revelation was made, and that he has “no communications with the White House,” Camp’s response grew even more excited.

“You’re the head of the IRS,” he exclaimed. “You don’t know something this important? Contacts between your agency and the Executive Branch? You’re unaware of them?”

Tellingly, Koskinen’s testimony began with his assertion that the IRS has no reason to apologize to investigators or the American public.

“I don’t think an apology is owed,” he stated. “Not a single email has been lost since the start of this investigation.”

The absolute arrogance of this corrupt bureaucrat is sickening, his attitude of how dare you question me is just another symptom of this imperial presidency, one that thinks it's above the law, and will never be held accountable

Cristy didn't know about the bridge lane closures of one the busiest bridges in the world. You conservatives are so hard up for some dirt on the president that you are fabricating meaningless scandals. I would ask how does the IRS story compare to the phoney information the Bush Cheney administration gave to Congress to invade Iraq and lose 4600 good young American lives and 3000 wounded. Get a life.

Too bad you're so young. I've already lived through the USA that is being described by you and Ricktloml, under President Nixon. He and the Conservatives were just as sickening. But look on the bright side all of the fictitious conspiracies and scandals, that Conservatives have created, during this administration, will be gone in 2017. Then Conservatives will either start making up "new" scandals, because a Democrat has been elected, or they will start bitching about the "obstructionist" Democrats.

An investigation for that was found to have no validity, however the IRS original investigation was followed with an apology and then a more thorough investigation where evidence has been destroyed and information sent has been horribly redacted. And all the Democrats can do is misdirect and repeat over and over "nothing to see here". Methinks thou doest protesteth too much.

Rich 278 and Bruce Kennedy:

Get real! We are not talking about what happened in previous administrations. Yes, Bush and Cheney did dumb things. We agree on that?
Today, the issue is with the IRS. So, cut your chatter about Bush and get with the current situation! Bush had nothing that happened in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

THE ISSUE IS THE IRS AND ITS FAILING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT SIMPLE EMAILS. Nothing more, nothing less.

Got that?????

The Republican congress has to keep regurgitating this stupid IRS (scandal) I use the term loosely, to cover up the fact that they have no agenda no ideas how to govern so they need to justify their existence, maybe they should take a vote to see if they can repeal Obamacare. The "do nothing Congress"

Very funny reply but maybe after January 1, 2015 such a vote would have a chance to succeed. That, of course, would be after the GOP wins back control of the Senate. Of course, Obama would then have to get out his veto pen.

Our left leaners just aren't able to stop deflecting the talk about a present day problem without going back to Bush. Deflection is one of the most important things in their replies.

While we are playing left leaning deflector how about looking back at the outstanding way Harry Reid used obstruction through threatening filibusters. He did do that a lot before he got to be the Floor Leader, didn't he? Did I deflect too much from the story you are wanting to tell?
