Zelensky Announces Ban on 11 Political Parties

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a measure that bans 11 opposition political parties, alleging they have ties to Russia, he announced in a Telegram video posted on Sunday. “Any activity of politicians aimed at splitting or collaborating will not succeed,” Zelensky said. Zelensky also said that “wartime exposes quite well the paucity of personal ambitions of those who try to put their own ambitions” or “their own party or career above the interests of the state,” according to a translation. The parties that have been banned include “Opposition Platform – For Life, Sharij’s Party, Nashi, Opposition Bloc, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, Derzhava, Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Socialists, and Volodymyr Saldo’s Bloc,” he said, according to Ukrinform. The National Security Council ruled to suspend the parties, Ukrinform reported, citing Zelensky’s video address.

How does this save democracy. Seems to disenfranchise a lot of Ukrainians.

>>>Exactly like Zelensky is doing. Ukraine is and has been one of the most corrupt countries on the planet. He is every bit a part of that. He would turn Ukraine into a dictatorship with him in charge. Democracy be damned. It isn't who votes, but who counts the votes.

And he will do whatever he can to protect the evil westerners who have been a part of the corruption in Ukraine. Starting with the bidens, obma, clintons, soros, etc.

Logically Right

Just more spin!
Right now zelensky is the “state” so of course his party is not rebellious. But anyone that wants to secede is the traitor.and will not be allowed to. Sounds a lot like mother Russia to me.
My party ONLY! Open a dictionary to read about corruption and you’ll see a lot of photos and zelensky will be one of those there.

(Almost) Every politician wants one-party rule...theirs!
(Almost) Every politician wants power over others.
It's the rare individual indeed who does not, such as George Washington.
Human nature hasn't changed in 10,000 years.

The proof is in the pudding of what Zelensky actually does if he survives this war with Russia.

He'll be the president of a greatly reduced Ukraine... Until the next elections...

I'm guessing Western Ukraine will have soured on having a Jewish president by that point...

In any case, Zelensky has been on this path for a long time....

Washington won the revolutionary war so the US could be a free nation. Then he turned right around and destroyed freedom by initiating the Whiskey Tax. He even brought in the army to enforce it. We haven't had true freedom since then.

True. No one is perfect. My point was that Washington reluctantly became general of the American forces, Didn't make himself King, and stepped down after two terms as President even though he could have easily won another.

It is extremely hard to maintain democracy while being invaded by a bigger neighbor, Canuckus.

Such attack forces the victim country to a) organize a viable defense, and b) to launch a search for a "fifth column" forces within.

England, with the belated American help, is a good example of a pre-war resistance to Mosley and some Mitfords.

On the other hand, the "Great Patriotic War", so dubbed by Stalin, had been partly won by the Red Army also by the relentless pestering of German wartime institutions in Ukraine. The tactics was a guerilla warfare and sabotage,
resulting, for instance, in a total destruction of Gestapo Headquarters in central Kyiv.

Those, of course, were the times of the "great fatherland", when a human life had no value at all.

No one knows or wants to know how many people perished in the battle of Stalingrad or the tank battle of Kursk.

It's just history now and much of it is still not known, but everybody knows what is happening today, eh?
