For nearly a month, Vladimir Putin has delivered a daily masterclass in incompetence and brutality. The ex-KGB spymaster and world-class kleptocrat was the guy Donald Trump wanted to be. Just weeks ago, the former president lavished praise on his idol and derided Nato as “not so smart”.

How’s that working out, Donald?

The world cheers for Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Ukraine, his besieged country. Russia’s economy is on its knees, its stock market shuttered, its shelves bare. The rouble is worth less than a penny. The west is not as decadent or as flaccid as the tyrant-in-the-Kremlin and President Bone-Spurs bet.

When I saw the title to the thread, I thought, "Wow, Kevyn has finally gotten it about Biden/Harris." But then I realized that you still haven't gotten over your hatred of our former great President. I don't know if I'll live long enough to figure out what it is about this current clown show that you like more than national sanity.

As collector's items ? The Russian Ruble from what I have read was at an all time low. A month ago I read, it was worth less than an American Penney. Don't know where it is today.

Why would you and China want Rubles ? The value of Russian energy is likely to go down in the next year. They can't sell it to the West. The World economy is likely to slow down considerably as the US and other major economies raise interest rates to stop inflation. That will cut demand for oil and gas.

What's China going to do with Rubles ? Paper over the Great Wall with them ?

I want them because the exchange rate is so one sides right now...
A year from now they'll be worth far more...

FYI: India and China are both upping their purchases of Russian oil...

Enjoy your gas prices...

I will until we get Joe Idiot out of the White House. China and India cannot replace the demand for Russian oil that came form the West, overnight. It takes time to build pipelines and shift distribution. And oil is not the whole story. Natural Gas is also big. Vlad may be able to unload a lot of oil on the far east, but he also needs to sell a lot of gas. Can China and India take that too ?

With prices this high on the World Market, demand destruction begins. And even though Joe Idiot is stopping American Energy production, higher prices will bring other normally less profitable fields on line world wide.

I do not see what you see. The Western World is all geared up to destroy Russia's economy. I say China and India do not have the power to save it. Even if peace is restored and the sanctions come off soon, the damage already done to Russia is permanent.

I keep saying it. The parts of Ukraine that Putin grabs when the fighting stops are all in ruin. I think he can't leave them like that. Will China give him construction aid in barter for oil ?

The parts he took are all agricultural...And they haven't harmed the fields...
The nuclear plants were captured intact too...

The West is pretty much alone on this one...

And their economies aren't in great shape either...

Are you saying that this was all about grabbing more farmland for Russia ? It had better be. All or most of the cities Vlad has attacked are piles of rubble. It appears that the Russian Army is far inferior to their Ukrainian cousins when is comes to close in fighting. All they can do is lob long range bombs and missiles at the Ukrainians. They are having to bring in mercenaries. The Ukrainians have even recaptured a few strong points. How the hell does that happen ?

The way Joe Biden embarrassed the United States in Afghanistan, Vladimir Putin is embarrassing Russia in Ukraine.

First, no, it's not a land grab... The Russians have been very careful not to?harm the farmland...They are not seeking to destroy the Ukraine...

Second, not a single city has been reduced to rubble... I challenge you to provide an example...

Third, the Ukrainians to date have not had a single victory that resulted in re capturing territory....The stories that came out to that effect have been proven false...But feel free to provide an example....

Fourth, Russia is limiting civilian casualties by sticking to precision bombings...

Fifth, where are these foreign mercenaries???? I've heard about them in the MSM, but it appears that Putin hasn't gotten the memories yet...

Yo wish you had a president with just a tenth the ability of Putin...

As to the last point - we do too.

As to the other point - we don't suppose that we are getting the complete story as to what is happening in Ukraine. BUT, I think we are seeing enough, (I don't know how much you are getting in Communist China), to see that the Russians are not playing footsie with the Ukrainians. I've been exposed to enough of this to know that we have a real war going on and innocent people are being killed. If you kill the people, it seems that the land would be very easy to take over.

Is bombing hospitals considered to be sticking to precision bombings that avoid civilians? Good luck with defending Putin on this but it seems to me it is going to be a difficult task.

The hospital was bombed because it was being used as a base by Ukrainian forces... Russia literally announced that they were going to hit it and that it should be evacuated...

See...That wasn't hard...

At the present time I must beg to leave without proving you wrong, as I am out of time this evening, but I see I must get cracking and find some counter evidence to what you are saying.

Nearly every point you made is 100 % the opposite of what I believe. One of us lives in fantasy land. I hope it isn't me.

Sorry, Kyle, I'm just having a lot of trouble justifying the slaughter that is going on in Ukraine. I don't think there is any doubt that innocent people are being killed, seemingly even targeted. I'm not naive enough to think we are getting the complete, objective story but I don't see anyone connecting the dots yet.
