Quid Pro Quo, CrazyHorse: Posted herewith a letter I received from Congressman Tim Huelskamp of the big Kansas 1st District; for you information and consideration. Hope you find it of interest.

July 30, 2013

Dear Mr xxxxxxx, (i.e. CrazyHorse)

Knowing your interest in the over-reaching actions taken by the IRS, I wanted to share some information with you. I had the opportunity to participate in a Congressional oversight hearing with the Acting IRS Commissioner, Daniel Werfel, who appeared before the Small Business Committee.

As you are probably aware, it has come to light that the targeting of organizations merely for their conservative political philosophy reached the highest levels in Washington, DC. And this is just one of several disturbing revelations about the IRS.

A recent Inspector General report revealed the IRS sent $46 million in refunds to 24,000 illegal aliens claiming the same address. This was just one of over 150 documented cases that saw thousands of refunds going to single addresses in a scheme to defraud the government. When I asked Acting Commissioner Werfel to explain how the IRS failed to catch such obvious fraud, he was unable to do so.

When I asked him whether the use of a single address for multiple returns and refunds is part of the audit trigger algorithm, Mr. Werfel admitted he didn’t know for sure. He did concede that some of the same IRS employees who have perennially failed to prevent and detect such obvious fraud will be enforcing various parts of ObamaCare.

When I asked him to identify the statute that authorizes the President to alter the ObamaCare employer mandate, Mr. Werfel was also unable to do so. You can watch the full exchange here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELv4MR0OrL8.

I have followed up with the Acting Commissioner with written questions that request detailed information on why the ObamaCare mandate enforcement was delayed for big businesses but not individuals and small businesses. I asked if employers who did not voluntarily comply with the employer mandate would be targeted for an audit. And, my questions also asked for reasons why the IRS is implementing new burdensome regulations that will require more hours of paperwork and tax headaches for small business owners.

The IRS is emblematic of big government run amok. The actions taken by the IRS only strengthens my resolve that it is time for us to scrap the current tax code and abolish the IRS.

Sincerely,

Tim Huelskamp
Member of Congress

They act like this is a new development. To quote "The actions taken by the IRS only strengthens my resolve that it is time". It is way past time, and their resolve is just now needing to be strengthened? What a farce, and we just keep hoping that they will eventually get off of their collective asses and actually do something. Time to fire all of them and get some untarnished representatives, keep changing them out until something positive is accomplished.

My question is: How do you abolish the IRS?

We can abolish the income tax, but how do we fund federal government then? What taxes? Who would collect them? Would the former IRS just change acronyms? That's my problem. And I do not think you have a solution to that problem. We could have the NSA bribe and extort funds for the federal government. That is what you are suggesting, right?

Quid Pro Quo, Augustus the Great: It really is simple. The government would need funds that you could peg at a reasonable percentage of GNP, gross national product, and allow it to grow the lessor of say 3 percent or the cost of living consumer price index; which tax moneys would be as a result of a flat tax percentage, one percentage for everyone; mailed in each year listing gross income, no deduction, times the percentage, and enclose the check; mailed to a Post Office Box in Washington D.C. And no, I'm not suggesting the NSA bribe and extort funds for the federal government, get serious. We already have enough bribing, and extortion in Washington; for example the Louisiana purchase, and the Nebraska corn husker kick back, that helped get OIllegalcare passed in the middle of the night, all 2700 never read pages of it. And then there is all the union Obama stimulus kick back money to Obama, and Obama's kick back money to George Soros, with 2 Billion dollars of tax payer money for Soros' Brazilian off shore oil company. It pays big tax payer bucks to make political contributions to Obama.

Maybe abolish is not the correct term. How about severly limit their powers - start with a flat tax - balance the budget, as the first step - then if there is not enough money - back off on the food stamps, welfare to none citizens - do away with the UN - stop foreign aide to countries that don't like us or our suggestions. Close the Border - the list is endless. Problem is that everyone wants something done, but no one wants to do anything to upset the status quo. Sure there would be mistakes made, but err on the side of spending money smartly, not wasting it on frivolous programs designed to purchase votes.

Quid Pro Quo, Unclet: Sounds good to me. And as for the status quo, we have to elect more conservatives. The RINO republicans are part of the problem of Marxist/Muslim usurper and his liberal democrat drones in the House and Senate; those folks need to go.

How did the government fund itself prior to 1913? What were it's sources of revenue before the advent of the Federal Reserve?

I'm ready to dump the entire herd and hand over the fed's responsibilities to the states. We don't need the feds - they are far more dangerous than helpful.

Banjojack,

What were the sum totals of those sources of revenue? What are those sum totals today? Are these sources of revenue being drawn from today?

What percentage of federal revenues are from the income tax? What taxes are income taxes? Social Security? Medicare?

There was a Supreme Court ruling in which the Court deemed the 16th amendment ratified. The Court had no choice at that time, if I remember right, due to the volume of income taxes that would need be repaid if it was unconstitutional. At that time it would have bankrupt our government to repay all income taxes collected. Today, I wonder if abolishing the income tax would have the same consequence.

Really? I thought the whole world was in his hands. Doesn't that god of the Jews demand to be loved with all your mind, heart, and strength? All seems like more than a tenth, to me. Maybe you have a different god?
