You will get no argument from me just simply by watching Biden’s lack of attention, action and decisions are! Right along with the lack of initiative from NATO. I don’t care if it’s a matter of not being a member. Right now we’re looking at humanitarian aid needed which should be being brought forward!

I had read earlier where trucks were caught supposedly bringing in food and clothing etc. which were really hiding weapons guns etc. being brought into Russia.

Allies as fickle as each country is in their supposed humanitarian efforts and assistance to other countries, that simple and yet that horrifying!

Understanding the difficulties you face in leaving why wouldn’t you go now? Are you being hindered from leaving or is it just too many trying?? As you say Poland and Hungary are doing everything they can to help get people out, aren’t you concerned that will slow down with the mass numbers coming in?

I am so truly sorry you are going through this and sincerely wish there was something I could do to help you. It all disgusts me especially our supposed leader ship!

Can't go now Linda. Driving is not even remotely possible. Walking is the only way but not possible to be in the woods for more than 1 month with night temps in the low 20s. It will take us more than a month on foot thru the woods and the weather is not survivable. We can only hope that the destruction of Odessa holds off until it is warm enough to survive being in the woods with no shelter for more than the month that it will take.

The European Union has decided to impose economic sanctions on its two member states, Poland and Hungary, even as the two countries deal with the influx of over 1.5 Million Ukrainian refugees in the last 2 weeks. European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favour of these sanctions on Poland and Hungary in the middle of the unfolding humanitarian crisis.

In a press release, European Parliament stated that it was high time for the Commission to protect the EU budget from violations of rule of law. It also mentions that EU funds must be protected from countries that undermine the EU’s “liberal democratic values”. As per European Union laws introduced in January 2021, EU member countries that bend the rule of law are not eligible to receive funds from the EU.

478 MEP (Members of European Parliament) voted in favour of these sanctions, while 155 voted against.

In October 2021, Poland’s top court had rejected the supremacy of EU laws over some judicial matters. A constitutional tribunal in Poland had stated that some EU treaty articles were incompatible with Poland’s constitution.

The European Commission had taken major objection to the Poland top court’s ruling and had stated, “EU law has primacy over national law, including constitutional provisions. All rulings by the European Court of Justice are binding on all member states’ authorities, including national courts.”

As per European Union, Poland and Hungary are not respecting these common EU laws, and are accused of curbing the freedom of courts, media and academics. In addition, they are accused of depriving LGBTQ+ people and migrants of their rights. The two countries had appealed against these European laws in the European Court of Justice but their plea was dismissed in February earlier this year.

With Billions of Euros at stake, this decision is bad news for both Poland and Hungary, particularly for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban who faces an election next month.

While the timing of this decision is just a coincidence, since the process was in the works since last year, still the decision to rob these countries of funds in the middle of a refugee crisis has been met with widespread derision. During the ongoing war in Ukraine, Poland has taken close to 1.5 million refugees, while Hungary has received nearly a quarter of a million refugees.

It is really insane that the EU would put such drastic measures on Hungary and Poland. Especially when they are right and in the right, and now doing so much for their fellow man. We in America see that same sort of bull schitte from our Government in Washington, and can't stand it. Many of us fight against it in our own ways. Poland and Hungary have a right to keep their countries what they are, and for their ethnic culture and religion.

As for Ukraine, they do to. They are both Russian and Ukraine and have been brothers for centuries. And like brothers, they help each other and fight each other all the time. Let's all hope that when this is over, they can become brothers again and learn to work through these issues between them. And not with any interference from the west.

As for the initial issues, I still think that NATO should back off, Ukraine should stay neutral as a buffer between NATO and Russia, and they need a serious investigation into what caused these rifts, outside interference, the 2014 coup and now those labs.

By the way, I do understand Russia's position in keeping NATO at bay. But I think this war is wrong and both the west and Putin are at fault for failing in negotiations. This invasion never needed to happen. No one is/was right.

And skyrider, good luck in attaining safety with whatever means you need to go through to attain it. As someone who spends time in the woods, there are good things and bad things. In the woods, the wind is less and you are warmer. Stay low, always push forward (good compass) by aiming towards open spaces. Dress warm, but not to warm as to sweat. That just chills you faster when you stop. Movement is warmth. When you stop, you stop generating heat instantly. Within a half to an hour you start getting cold. Make sure you have warm light weight blankets, sleeping bags and tents or whatever you are planning to sleep in. Abandoned homes, barns or whatever shelter you can find. Make sure you eat well for the energy. In Chicago, I've seen homeless surviving it 15 below Zero. Bundled up and sleeping wherever there is no wind or rain/snow. A month long journey in the woods is a real rough way to go. Think of it as an adventure and not desperation. It will help keep your spirits up.

I'll pray that you and your wife are both safe Skyrider. Please keep safe. I pray day and night for Ukraine. Every time I saw Ukraine on TV, I cried. So many people suffer because of Putin. The world could have peace if we could only get rid of Putin.

I have donated for Ukraine the other day, and today, thru Red Cross.org/Ukraine. Mercy Chef received the money and emailed me right away receipts for my tax deduction. I trust Mercy Chef.

I wonder why Europe would stop Poland and Hungary to helping Ukraine. Now there are more than 1.5million Ukrainian refugees in Poland, and hundreds of thousands in Hungary.

Something is wrong with NATO in Europe. Are they afraid too of Putin like Biden? Poland is a Christian country, and the birth place of St. John Paul II. He was also instrumental in ending the Cold War with president Reagan, PM Gorbachev. I pray Pope John Paul will save Poland and Hungary.

President Reagan stands for peace thru strength. Likewise president Trump did the same. If the radical DEMS did not steal the election in 2020, president Trump is the president and we don't have the Ukraine war today.
