Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for foreign volunteers to be able to fight against Ukrainian forces.

Speaking at a Russian security council meeting, he said those who wanted to volunteer to fight with Russia-backed forces should be allowed to.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said there were 16,000 volunteers in the Middle East ready to fight alongside Russia-backed forces.

Aren't they the enemy of the West? I can't figure out why they would want to fight on Putin's side against Ukraine? Has Ukraine ever involved themselves in the Middle East?

No it's not. They can agree to Putin's demands, buy us some time and save a few innocent lives. But we are going to have to find our line in the sand, privately, and watch and see what the coming months and years bring from Putin.

“Innocent lives”? The Russians have started indiscriminate terror bombing and shelling, and you know the Syrian mercenaries are going to shoot anything that moves regardless.

When the Ukraine military were shelling schools and hospitals in the donbas, the soldiers didn't want to know what it was they were hitting. They wanted to be ignorant of what it was they aere blowing up so they could sleep at night. This shelling was under the order of their leader, was it not???

Duh. It’s called MONEY. Not that Putin has an awful lot now that half his stash has been frozen. And he said he would give $65,000 to the family of every Russian soldier killed in Ukraine. I hope those families aren’t holding their breath.

Seems to me Donbas started it by bringing in Russian “volunteers” and military hardware in a revolt against the gov’t. of Ukraine.
