I tried something the other day on someone who was running on about something that is obviously incorrect, but it is a right wing talking point...

I said you want to know something, he asked what...I said I know that you know that that is not the fact, that it is a lie, don't you? He said yeah, I do, but so many other people I know believe it that it's easier to go along. I told him that the reality is that they are just as aware that they are running off at the mouth about a lie, but that this is their identity. I told him you can actually correct people, they will listen and it will tone that group down as more and more people correct the lie, which will start happening.

I told him he should try correcting people he can talk to to see what they say, he called last night laughing and said he tried it with a few people and they agreed that they knew there was a lot of actually ridiculous lies being piled up.

I thing that people are going to start sorting out the obvious lies, especially about the election and the insurrection conspiracy that is being exposed more and more. There is only so long people can keep talking about totally ridiculous lies without looking ridiculous themselves
