Mask Mandates and their effectiveness

Mask mandates, what a joke. Who gave the government the right to tell me or anyone else what's good or bad for me. Let do a quick reality check.

1. The talking heads said that Covid 19 is an airborne pathogen. OK, let's accept that for right now.

2. The talking heads said that wearing a mask will aid in protecting us from C19......."NOT"

Here's an easy test for you to try at home. Put your mask on, open a bottle of perfume, hold it up to your nose and take a deep breath. If you can smell the air Bourne fragrance guess what else will be going up your nose.

If that doesn't convince you; ask a fireman if he would go into a smoky building wearing only a N95 or KN95 mask.

A KN95 filters 95 percent of particles, and so does an N95. A KF94 filters 94 percent of particles.

They filter PARTICLES, in other words they are dust mask, they will not filter pathogens or viruses.

Listen to whoever you want, but Do your own research, think for yourself.

All's I know is that I haven't gotten either the flu or my annual cold since wearing a mask.
I assume that the mask is doing a good job protecting me from air born germs. My friends are noticing the same results. I am allergic to perfumes. There is a gift shoppe that I buy stuff from. They usually have a scented candle going when I enter the store. This unmasked would make me flee the shoppe. I can do my shopping with a mask on. The masks do three things. They prevent you from spreading disease. They prevent someone from catching disease. If you do get a dose of viruses, they make sure you get a smaller dose of the viral particles, making it easier for your immune system to fight off the disease. One of the reasons for long Covid is getting a large dose of viral particles initally. If you think masks ate so useless, I recommend you ask the surgeon who opperates on you to take his mask off.

Pegw, Do your own research. "Google it"
How well do face masks protect against COVID-19?

Here is an answer to your surgeon question.

A surgical mask is mainly intended for health professionals including physicians and nurses for protection during medical procedures. It is designed to prevent liquid droplets and aerosols from the wearer's mouth and nose. They are also designed to prevent cross‐contamination between respiratory particles of a wearer and body fluid of patients during surgery (Henneberry, 2020). Although surgical masks are not designed to filter out viruses which are smaller than bacteria, they can be as effective as respirators, such as N95 for preventing Influenza among health care personnel (Radonovich et al., 2019) and against respiratory droplets during the outbreak (Bartoszko et al., 2020).

I haven't gotten either the flu or a cold since I started drinking Green Tea, 10 years ago, and I never wear a mask.

To each their own.

A couple of things. Masks don't work to stop Covid in more then a few percent of cases. We're talking 2% to 5%. Essentially useless when taking in the bad effects of wearing masks. Like breathing in all of the foul air you just exhaled.

Try this as we are talking about doing your own research. Sit down comfortable for a few minutes to put your heart and lungs at complete rest. Then count your breathes for five minutes. I got 72. Then I put on a cloth mask and a regular mask I got from a doctors office. Both registered 86. That is showing you what. First, you are breathing back in the carbon dioxide, that so called green house gas, a human waste product. Sort of like taking a dump and then scooping 15% back in. Pretty stupid. You are also not getting 15% oxygen back into your body. Something your body needs for you to live. Depriving your body of the oxygen level it craves, like for your brain, slows down brain activity. Just what we want for our kids.

We already know, as others have said, that it doesn't stop Covid by any appreciable amount. So, why take actions that don't help, and also do harm. And then try to force it on others so they can be as dumb as you are appearing, makes no sense. As I said, as dumb as a Mask wearer.

Logically Right

Logically Right. There are several examples of what you pointed out about rebreathing bad air on the internet. Just Google it and find out for yourself. The big question is "Why is our government forcing these stupid mask mandates on us when they don't work". Then to add insult to injury they ask why we don't trust them.

Masks filter out particles, not gases. Covid is spread by small water droplets exhaled by your lungs. If you have Covid, viruses will hitchike on those particles. They can go up to six feet. They can hang in the air indoors for 2 hours. Outside in the sun, the viruses have a half life of 90 seconds,. according to De Birx of the CDC.
