Brilliant response.

Thank You, JR…Nice to see you…
Seems both sides of the spectrum want voting laws changed with many states passing bills while this administration moves to actually shred them bringing voting rights to “ them” in place of free election choice of “ We the Citizens.”

Voter ID fraud has not been a problem forever. No one is impersonating voters .
Voter ID would solve nothing , compared to the problems it would create.
Like , expiration dates, addresses changes, phone # changes. Just more more way for the right to cobble up the works.
How does the right feel about IDs for guns.??? We should know at any given time who the owners of these guns are, no ?
Interested to hear.

Don’t you mean voter fraud has been intentionally covered up for years with everyone screaming about but no actual collective panels put together to check the accuracy of votes before?? How can you make such a definitive claim without knowing what has and has not been done to “ find out?”

This an asinine comment: Like , expiration dates, addresses changes, phone # changes. Just more more way for the right to cobble up the works.

People who already do have ID face the same situations, so does it cause them the same hurdles in notifying their voters registration office of the changes required??? Sure it does but they get it done don’t they??

Legal gun owners have a required permit to have and carry and their guns are registered so what’s your point?

Good stuff, linda!

It's kind of funny isn't it, but in this last election these guys who want voter reform to make it easier to vote, claim there were over 80 million votes for a guy who couldn't get ten people to a rally, campaigning from his basement. It that is actually true, it must be pretty damn easy to vote, wouldn't you say???

They just need to admit it, Biden didn't get no 80 million votes and now they figure they can't cheat again and it might take over 80 million votes to get a democrat elected legitimately. They need this "voting rights" bill to be able to get actual votes, legal or not!!
Good stuff, linda! br br It's kind of funny isn't... (show quote)

80 million my derrière’ !

The voting rights bill they are pushing is like a junky pushing drugs.. Full of everything that will truly strip you of life’s rights and keep you under their domaine for more of anything only when they give it to you!! Worst criminal attempt to usurp the true voting laws in place before this “tyrannical regime moved in to take over.”

U.S. election laws date back to Article 1 of the Constitution. This gave states the responsibility of overseeing federal elections. Many Constitutional amendments and federal laws to protect voting rights have been passed since then. With a number of amendments throughout the growth of our nation… Enforce the laws in place

When something isn't broken there is no point in fixing it.

What we have today is heartbroken losers wanting to fix it. They are using states rights to achieve their ideal
fix it agenda state by state.

People are pissed because their votes are being screwed with instead of guaranteed.

If you look back in the past each time we had a change in this country it was on account of someone wanting to mess with and here is a perfect example. By screwing people over the R's in this case are guaranteeing the federalization of elections. It is coming. They are making it come. It's pretty much the same playbook they use in just about everything they do. They figure out a legal loophole to exploit and they do it and they rail and cry foul the whole time while being accused of what they are doing.

It's nothing new. Sadly they are living and breathing a self fulfilling prophesy to guarantee that change will come.

Not that what you said wasn't so, except for the fact that they won't let it be so. They are the offender with their heartbroken loss of election.

There is a reason your ( color of the beast) darkies were rounded up and used as slaves across the globe, i might add it was the only time they contributed to society in a meaningful way. ..... they lose due to folks like yourself, and the whitey brigade of whiners thinking those darkies will ever be civilized or progress enough to actually have an understanding of how stupid they actually are and address that... self awareness eludes them like common sense in a liberal........ you set unattainable goals for the most ignorant and expect a positive outcome..... again, you're the problem .

And hey...... cobble this up.

And it's unconstitutional. It could only stand long enough to effect the next election, maybe.

As can be gleaned from all the amendments and laws governing voting over time it obviously has never been fixed to the satisfaction of the control seeking tyrannical debonaires of the political spectrum we allowed in over reach just accepting it all as “Politics as usual.” That is both parties, not just the R’s…

As for this comment:People are pissed because their votes are being screwed with instead of guaranteed… ~~You are damn right to the point they, regardless of party, want fair voting and their vote to count instead of being manipulated, if not erased.. To allow such any more is to Eventually lose all of our rights. This one being the most sacred… Along with the first under such vicious attack it simple enforcement of what is already in place with no ability of these conniving Politicians with the authority to change it, yet Congress makes the rules.. They are fully aware of what needs to be done yet none of them want to do it and we will use gerrymandering as a perfect example where both sides abuse it. If you want change put that responsibility on the people, a specific commission not appointed by politicians. Seems a simple solution doesn’t it, yet Congress doesn’t make that change and you know why, because they then lose the control and because they like it just the way it is!

Exactly why the push to get done before the 2022/2024 elections… If passed and new laws written you’’ll play hell getting them off the books. Amendments I’m not worried about they don’t have enough time in that process.

If all that is so, then a voting rights act that protects the votes of every American should be no problem but for some reason it is for Republicans. It's because they don't want everyone to have an easy way to vote. They want their fact checkers/overseers in place to make everyone have to stand in line for eons just to do it.

When people register to vote they go through enough and that should be the end of screwing with people.

Well now on Citizens United I strongly support that damn Unconscionable SC ruling be modified right on OUT!!! No disagreement at all..

However, it will not stop the contributors or solicitors at all..They know how to weasel around any such limitations of donations… Didn’t have a problem before United and won’t after either…

It will end foreign money. Foreign money doesn't belong in our elections. There are a lot of other great things in the bill that mean all Democrats and Republicans have an equal opportunity to vote and have that right protected.

I’d like to read the entire bill.. No piece mealing it with someone else’s take on it..

What I do not support is the “national minimum standards” supposedly needed to ensure access to the polls, and trying to over ride the Constitution, Bill of Rights etc and leave it to the states to retain flexibility on how they run elections and not a federal takeover of voting rules….

We’ll agree to disagree on this one...

Absolutely!

I can agree with you even.

Providing nothing would have ever happened in this regard that's how it would have remained, until someone stirs the pot.

A farmer friend of mine told me something once about hole digging. He said, if you find yourself in a hole the quickest way out is to stop digging. No one wants to stop digging therefore we have a self fulfilling prophesy at work and not damn thing can be done to stop it. So in a way what we think doesn't matter.
