I Think Most Democrat Presidents Would Pardon Trump If He Is Convicted Of Criminal Activities Such As Obstruction

It would be seen by dems as a way to make trump just go the hell away, and start to heal a division in this country. In fact the way to do it would be to bring an array of indictments, and make the pardon happen rather than put the country through months of divisive if not explosive trials that would be next to impossible to find an impartial jury... given that the right would see a perfectly unbiased jury that locked him up for 20 years as "trump haters".

I would be pissed off if Trump got a free get out of jail card. It would mean that the rich and well connected are not held accountable for their crimes. I believe that Trump is guilty of all kinds of crimes, and should be tried if the DOJ and the state court of New York have found evidence of such crimes.

On the one hand, yes I'd be pissed and so would tens of millions of others...

On the other can you imagine the year or more of strife this country would be subjected to, given the already explosive nature of division we are dealing with? A trial and all the facts that would be revealed would do absolutely nothing to change anyone who supports trumps "minds".

I doubt any Democrat president would pardon Trump for anything, espically when he may be convicted of sedition.

Sounds like you already have him convicted. Is that American? Sounds more like what they do in Communist countries.

I haven't heard that there has been a trial yet, Frosty. Do you know something I don't?

Clearly I know much less than you do..

I have to say my comment did not look at any facts, only a desired outcome of conviction. then my words would have just a bit more clarity..

First of all if Trump were to be pardoned. It would have to be under a agreement, that he can never run for public office again. and the second thing wrond with this disscussion is that state charges do not fall under a Presidental Pardon so He would need the Govenor of New York topardon him also.
So it is just wishfull thinking

balm, The judicial system clearly states that a person is to be considered innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt but evidence against Trump and his cronies is compelling so far. Trump himself once said that only guilty people hide behind the Fifth Amendment. We have to ask ourselves why so many of Trumps buddies and partners in crime refuse to testify before the House Jan. Sixth Committee. The legal tradition also says that only a sitting President can grant executive privilege. Guys like Bannon refuse to testify even though he was not a member of Trump's administration.
We will have to see what comes out of the documents, and papers that were just handed to the Committee. Why did Trump try to hide them for so long a time?
Legally, Trump is innocent for the time being, but I would have to be deaf, dumb and blind as well as stupid to ignore all that has gone on.

That's why we have a judicial system, Salty. Trump haters assume he is guilty even though his haters spend millions and told lies to get the special prosecutor to chase down the Russian collusion hoax, a terrible stain on our Country's Democrat leaders. The Jan 6 fiasco is about as crazy as it gets, with the left raising all kinds of concerns that aren't justified while overlooking the obvious facts.
