Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) found his name trending Thursday on social media for all the wrong reasons after what critics called a “groveling” and “humiliating” appearance on Fox News.

And it all started after he finally said something honest about the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol, when Donald Trump supporters attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Cruz this week called it a “violent terrorist attack,” in line with a Jan. 7, 2021, statement he made calling it “a despicable act of terrorism.”

Those comments enraged far-right conspiracy theorist Tucker Carlson, a confessed liar who called him out over it on Fox News this week.

On Thursday, Cruz went on Carlson’s show to bend the knee, calling his own comments “sloppy” and “dumb.”

Why haven't any of the people arrested on Jan. 6 been charged with treason, sedition, or anti American activities ?

A new low for Republican mouthpiece Tucker Carlson and Fox News. Ted Cruz finally tells the truth about the January 6 invasion and Carlson throws a far-right ugly meltdown.

I don't know. When a person kills another person in cold blood, by beating them to death, the prosecutors do not stop with charging only assault and battery. To call this riot an insurrection and then not charge anyone with treason or sedition makes no sense.

But I digress. Now lets us assume that the Democrats are right. Lets us 'assume' this does in fact meet the legal definitions of an insurrection. Are you still with me ? Good. So this attack on the Capitol does meet the criteria of an insurrection ? We have defined when a riot is not merely a riot, but an INSURRECTION ?

Okay, then I quadruple dog dare YOU to tell me that the Black Lives Matter riot in Portland on a Federal Courthouse fails to meet the criteria that you and I have just established to define an insurrection ?

Garland, unlike trump DOJ people keep their business closer to the vest...you'll know when indictments are served

He threw down and said that everyone that broke the law will be prosecuted...anything to do with trying to stop the proceedings Jan 6th is in criminal violation

It has nothing to do with the fact it is a riot per se... it's about what the purpose of that riot was and what it was about. It had an expressed intent to stop the official proceedings of the 6th. It is specifically against the law to even try to delay an official proceeding, and that charge is surfacing and looks like it will be used against everyone involved with trying to do so, including the politicians involved.

Flip to looking at other riots...they had no plan, no intent to overthrow any aspect of government, they were pissed off people blindly striking out without a plan. That is what a riot is, angry people. The mob at the capital at the core had an intended purpose of delaying the peaceful transfer of power.

If you can't understand the difference it's because you choose not to, it's playing ignorant...those who don't get it don't want to.

Part of your dare would come with you providing clarity on what official election proceeding they were trying to delay or prevent...there wasn't any such intent so your dare is empty and devoid of meaning.

But back to the topic, I can't stand the lying sniveling little weasel...but that display of groveling hurt, it is hard to watch a man reduced to this kind of humiliation.

S-O-W, my links simply provided answers as to your previous question.

But, in response, I quadruple dog dare YOU to point out where I have ever condoned violent riotous acts by anyone. Any and all who participate in such should be prosecuted. I don't believe we are at odds on that matter.

We are arguing whether Jan.6 was an insurrection or a mere riot.

The name of the action does not matter. The attack was a violent attempt on the part of losing candidate Donald Trump to change the election result. As usual, he did not personally act in the performance, but directed his brainwashed lackeys to carry out his dirty deed. Is 2022 the year Trump is charged with a crime? Let's hope so.

PROVE IT ! Show me the exact language Donald J. Trump used to personally ' direct ' his " brainwashed lackeys " to stage a riot. Come on. Back up your big mouth. You guys say these outrageous things and when I call on you to produce evidence you guys generally punt, flee the scene of the crime, go dark, hurl insults, change the subject, or simply fail to answer my direct question. If you are not one of " You guys " then " post your evidence.
