10 Fourth Graders and their teacher killed by assault rifle, 25 Elementary students wounded: See story on page 17

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/gun-deaths-by-country>In contrast to the U.S. and Latin America, gun deaths are extremely rare in countries like Japan, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Australia. These countries have implemented incentives or passed legislation to decrease the number of firearms in circulation.
Here in "the land of the free and the home of the brave" too many guns remain available for criminals, nut jobs, reckless children, and gangbangers to access as many as they want...

Are you trying to argue that a semi-automatic weapon isn't an assault weapon? Doesn't the M-16 have semi-automatic and automatic modes? Is it still not an assault rifle when it is in semi-auto mode, which I would venture to say would be the majority of the time?
We are here to help the illiterate. The M-16 is a military weapon with the ability to fire either semi-automatic (one discharge per trigger pull) or fully automatic (multi discharges per trigger pull), The AR-15, like similar weapons, are for civilian use, and are SEMI AUTOMATIC ONLY, and it is ILLEGAL to even try to convert one to fully automatic.
An assault weapon, by definition, is a military weapon. Some civilian weapons, like the AR-15, look similar to military weapons because the design is extremely functional. It has nothing to do with "looking military".
It is legal for a civilian to own a fully automatic weapon, but it is extremely expensive and involves a VERY indepth licensing procedure. There is no record of fully automatic weapons ever being used in a mass murder, and only a very few times in crimes of any sort. An AR-15 is no more dangerous than any magazine fed sporting rifle.

4 deaths per incident is far from a demanding criteria.
why the heck should gang shoot outs and domestic killings be excluded??
You are asking the wrong person. I do not define them. I believe the FBI may have a method of asking, if you are interested.
But just in my opinion? I would tend to NOT include gang warfare for the same reasons we do not include military actions or law enforcement actions. Domestic instances? That would depend on the particulars, I suppose.
My objection is playing with figures and fact to justify a conclusion. For example, if you look up 'school shootings', you will get a huge figure. But that figure INCLUDES , weapon discharges where no one was hurt, accidental discharges by armed security guards, and even drive by shots in the middle of the night. Even bb guns and airsoft pistols have occasionally been included. Anything and everything that possibly can be used to make the numbers look worse are thrown in, and the phrasing of the titles and the first half dozen paragraphs leave the impression that all of the shootings were lethal. I just tend to like honesty. Things are bad enough without exaggeration.

Typical, and disgusting, Right madness. Universal Federal laws will make a difference.
You poor dumb shit, that's exactly what the 2nd Amendment was written to protect us from. If Federal laws are inacted against guns and gun owners we will be in tyranny shortly there after.
I have beeen shooting since I was six under my fathers eye. I have shot in combat, competition, hunting, and I currently teach concealed carry. The only people I have shot to death I have meant to shoot. I carried a gun to school many times and NEVER considered shooting anyone. It is not the gun, but the attitude of the people that matters. Put God back in schools and this will stop shortly. The morning prayer and pledge of aligence was a very good way to start the school day.

The liberal educational establishment do not allow that, and will never allow that.

LOL
I remember back when a lot of young fellows brought guns to school so they could go hunting afterwards (rabbit hunting was certainly my favorite).
Our shop class teacher (retired Army fellow) did a gun safety session every semester.

I had similar experiences….. with buds after school, pheasant in the fall and rabbits in the winter…… often with a pint of peppermint schnapps.
