Who the real loser?

This is what happens to employees working for Minimum Wage when the last increase happened.

Since October 2009, three months after the last federal minimum wage increase, there has been virtually no jobs recovery for American teens. For May 2014, the official count puts the number of teens with jobs at a level that's 1,377,000 lower than the 5,927,000 teens who were counted as being employed in November 2007.

Yes, there were 1,377,000 less jobs. That means they were Laid Off. If they get the new increase there will be over 2,000,000 people Laid Off.

If no one has notice the whole labor force has been disappearing sense Obama has taken office.

Raising the Minimum Wage has never worked and there has always been a price to pay when done.

The "Minimum Wage" is the perfect illustration of the fact that Liberal Democrats are products of their own "common core" math. They honestly believe that 2+2=22 because they want it to.

Let those who don't believe in minimum wage increases work for low wages themselves. They will soon be behind in bills. uncertain in their houseing security and apllieng for food stamps. This is what you want? You can live that way then.

If you don't like your pay either do a good enough job to get a promotion or get a different job with obozo's fabulous jobs program that should be easy

I make more money in a day than most workers earn in a week.

I am not a minimum wage earner. I have been fortunate to have an education and ability. Perhaps a person can better themselves but not every one gets the opportunity. There are single parents and people at a disadvantage through work skills that depend on minimum wage jobs. These folks may never do better even though they work hard. It is better for the country if they make better wages. Reduceing the cost of social services should be considered. You are against socialism so it would be reasonable to pay the worker enough to stand on their own without government assistance.

Tom, you're an absolute sweetheart and your heart is as big as Texas but that isn't the way it works. America used to be full of success stories of folks who started with nothing and ended up as corporate moguls because they went after it. And there was nothing holding them back because it was, "the American Way." We believed in ourselves. Chicago was the, "City With the Big Shoulders." Folks knew the ropes and what they needed to do in order to move up. You're right when you say some people don't get the opportunity to do so but that is the result of the current policies that stifle recovery and prevent small business from starting or growing due to regulations and other impediments like the (un) Affordable Care Act that our [presently] Liberal government loves to impose upon us, "for our own good." I personally know people who became millionaires in Amway and the difference between them and the 98% who never get above step one is the effort they put in to it. "What goes around comes around," and, "If you keep doing what you're doing you're going to keep getting what you're getting." Simple, simple stuff. Way TOO simple for the Libs

` If wages don't go up then rents have to go down. with apartments averageing $650 a month and utiliitys arverageing $300 and your take home pay is about that much a month. You either find another min wage job to make ends meet or you go on food stamps and houseing assistance. What is there to loose? Do we keep people on assistance or do we allow them independence?

Don't you guys see your whole outlook on the economy favors Big Business? You are in favor of dismantling the entire middle class. Corporations hold you like puppets. You argue their case better than a team of highly-paid lawyers. It is so sick and screwy and outrageous your objections to unions, minimum wage, and other features that favor workers it is like the very idea of labor is anathema to you, unless done by slaves and indentured servants, a class you are helping to create.
