We have these modern day machines, but........
Evidently, they don't work as stated.
Example: The dishwasher.
In my house, it is required that the dishes be scrubbed with the soap filled wand, with the spongy, scrubby hootie on the end, rinsed, and put in the dishwasher. In my mind, the dishes are clean before getting washed.
Is that just me, or what?
I'm thinking about finding a washtub, and scrubbing board so we can apply the same principle to the laundry.
I mentioned that earlier, and now I'm the bad guy.
Hashtag domestic battles.

That's ok Arch when I was 12 pointed this out to my sister who was making me do her dishes now remember I'm 70 now she stated the dishwasher just sterilized the dishes to get rid of germs.
fast forward I'm washing MY dishes my youngest(who is 42 at the time) walks in WHY are you washing your dishes (because the hot water feels good on my poor finger.) You need to put them in the dishwasher mom to STERILIZE otherwise you leave GERMS on them. Between you and me arch we need those germs to help us be strong against the other really bad things in this world.

Mrs. B. Has certain dishes that don't go in the dishwasher, so you wash them just like the dishes that DO go in the dishwasher. Huh?
She even has laundry sanitizer for the machine! I think she's trying to kill me from lack of germs!
My wife has gone through three brand new washer and dryer sets-Three new ranges and four refrigerators since we have been married. No way am I going to install a dishwasher too just so I can replace it when it breaks. New Appliances have been junk for a long time.

I bought a condo almost two years ago. Built in dishwasher. Haven't used it yet. Wash dishes as I use them. Simple.

That's logical
I used to live in long beach, NY. Lived alone with 2 cats. I used the dishwasher .1x on weekend, to disinfect my cats food and water bowls. Seemed a waste of electricity and water to use for myself.

We found Maytag to be junk --they don't make them the way they used to.
