If you will notice the headline of this story it will lead you to believe that a man attacked the National Guard Because of the Covid-19 vaccinations…….but that IS NOT what happened! A caravan of National Guard soldiers was transporting coronavirus vaccines in northern Texas when the trip turned into a frightening encounter with a man who posed as a detective and held them at gunpoint, authorities said.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. Monday after the 11 unarmed guardsmen left a gas station in Lubbock and began heading northeast toward Motley County. They soon realized that a truck driver was following their three vans and was repeatedly trying to run them off the road, according to police.

The man, identified as 66-year-old Larry Harris, followed them for about 10 miles and eventually swerved into oncoming traffic on an Idalou road, forcing the caravan to stop, police said.
“He made a U-turn on the highway and parked his vehicle head on in front of those vans, got out, announced that he was a detective, didn’t show a badge, didn’t show credentials,” Idalou Police Chief Eric Williams told local news station KAMC.

Harris, who is from Arizona, ordered the group to get out of the vehicles so he could search them, authorities said. He later told police he thought the people in the vans — all of whom were in National Guard uniform — had kidnapped a woman and a child, Williams said.
One of the soldiers managed to secretly call 911 while Harris searched their vans. Police arrived at the scene moments later and arrested the suspect without further incident.

Harris was caught with a loaded pistol and an extra magazine, according to police. He also had another magazine and more ammunition in his truck.
“I was very thankful that it did not turn into major bloodshed,” Williams told the ABC affiliate.

The chief said he believes Harris was having mental issues.
The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful restraint, interfering with military forces and impersonating a public servant.
