This is a Veteran’s stance on Afghanistan.
1) there are three reasons why powerful ‘outsiders’ intervene in the affairs of Afghanistan: (a) all warfare enriches the so-called Military/ Industrial /CONgressional/ Banking cartel Complex
(B) warfare trims down the population of ‘potential’ Revolutionaries( aka- young men) ; (c) the invading mega-power, that is Russia and the U. S. had hoped to ‘win’ to gain the Trillion dollar assets in “Rare Earth Minerals,” the Lithium deposits, and Copper and ……
2) it didn’t work for Russia. Nor the U.S.
3)is it all Bush’s fault? Obama’s fault ? Trump’s fault ? Biden’s fault ? They were all puppets of the So-called NWO ( New World Disorder).
Unless we , or any superPower kill off the majority of Moslem MEN there will NEVER be any freedom for Moslem women. No Moslem country will Ever be Westernized the way we expect.
4) THAT is Why our US trained and equipped Afghan Army folded and welcomed in the taliban. They are all the same. A few Western-thinking police fought the Taliban; the British SAS are still fighting them, but not the Americans.
Biden/ Harris/Pelosi/ Schumer/ Schiff /Reid and others, as well as turncoat generals should all be tried and convicted of Treason.
5) now ‘guess who’ is going to reap the benefits? Yep, anti-Moslem China. They have the most modern mining technology and it will earn them (and terrorists) billions upon billions.
6) what could and should the US have done ? Make contracts with whomever we invade. We say “we kill your terrorists; we build Airports; we build roads; Schools; hospitals; and you let us mine lithium; drill for oil; mine copper. We get the product ‘TO OFFSET THE COSTS OF THIS PROTRACTED WAR, and nation-building.”
Thank you. Nice doing war/ business with you.

Having been there, I find nothing in this post that would disagree with. As far as contracts, having also been in Iraq. We should have done the same there with oil.

You are absolutely correct Platoon Leader. In a perfect World you would be an excellent liaison between our nation’s interests and securing rights from the host country.
An excellent starting point would be Venezuela. We target the corrupt; install good people; try our best to assist them in destroying the drug trade. Secure oil, gold, … mineral Contracts. Treat the people well. And then leave. Our nation needs to ‘win the hearts & minds’ of other nations By treating them well, Not as plundering colonial powers did.
Business makes the World go-round. As a side note- we show no mercy/ give No quarter to terrorists, despots, predatory bankers… etc

Me, personally- I’d take our quasi-corrupt Western style of government over any Moslem government, any day. Do we ‘need’ to clean up our act? Get our sh-t together, punish corruption? Heck yes.
To clarify things , looking at pre-Kohmeni days, women led the way and adopted Western education, dress, socializing …After the Shah of Iran was replaced the Moslem countries slid back into tyrannical control. Our nation and Western nations have ( for good or for bad) taken it upon themselves to depose tyrants, or so-called terrorist groups, and it has varying results. Libya was a CF and still is; Yemen is a mess; Iraq is a crying shame; the big boy on the block - Iran , is a powerhouse and ‘on the verge of being a nuclear power.’ We should focus on Iran and enforce the no-nukes accord, but also increase trade with them. And no, not to Westernize them, just to see if they evolve towards more freedom. Ever been there ? Their young and university age students are predominantly pro-Western ideals. They are rightfully AFRAID of disappearing in the night if they push too hard. They want/ desire elected Western type government but are quite afraid of the fanatics (with guns) snuffing them out , one by one . Or en masse.
I can’t keep writing forever. This is a hotbed topic for the whole region. My (deceased) mother was French-Canadian, and I miss visiting up there. But Trudeau needs 2 Go !!
Have a good day CD.

Thank you. After they used me up in the field in later years I was moved into S3 most time I was tasked as liaison. Either with host countries or other commands. Takes a lot of thinking before you speak and using tact.
