Lou, It,s obvious you're not Christian. I suppose that makes you one of the "enlightened" ones that accepts science without question That's dangerous my friend because science is not always right.

No, science is not always right. That's why theories are modified or outright discarded when they are shown to be inaccurate. Real science is not accepted "without question". Faith is belief without evidence -- if you had evidence, you wouldn't need faith.

I'm not trying to defend christianity, just saying that what someone believes should be none of anyone's business. I hear you calling them stupid which reflects a lot about your character. It doesn't have to be your way or the highway. Show as much tolerance for the faithful as they show for your beliefs. 1st amendment should clear this up for you.

You have no idea if I'm Christian or not . I did not dispense that information .
You look at things through your particular ideological lens and thus blind yourself to the innuendo and suggestive aspersions cast in espousing their views . You do not see this but YOU DO see my reply .
You take exception to my use of the word stupid , but you have nothing to say about .."libtard " , Commie , socialist ,and the whole lexicon of 'conservative ' terms used in denigrating the opposing or disagreeing view .
You're a hypocrite .

Lou, your problem is you don't think about the consequences of reactionary actions and btw , what has Walmart been doing for yrs?

It's called "externalized costs", basically a scam where they pay so little that many of their million employees receive government assistance just to survive. The Waltons pull down a few extra billion, and your tax dollars cover the payroll. Socialism masquerading as the free market.

Maitreya - do you have any evidence that Walmart pays their employees less than other retail organizations? The slander against them based on nothing more than attacks by unions, and then only because the people who work at Walmart don't want to join the unions.

LOL....keep on arguing based on your teebagger /suck up to business memes .
Maitreya , is absolutely correct on Walmart's practices , which BTW is part and parcel of Walmart's business model .
For all the griping you teebagger patriots do over taxation , it's perfectly ok for Walmart to empty your pockets visa-vis Municipal ,State, and County taxes levied to provide basic services for woefully underpaid Waklmart employees PURPOSELY KEPT UNDER 30 HOURS , so even the paltry benefits Walmart affords it's employees are out of their reach . Add to that , tax breaks those same municipalities give Walmart's for LOLOLOL... in return for "creating go nowhere under a living wage jobs " . Last time I looked the whole purpose of a municipality giving tax incentives to big business was that in return jobs would be created in those municiplaities which means more tax paying residents , buying things and contributing to other businesses etc . LOL...with Walmart , they get the SHAFT as those "created jobs " wind up cost the municipality more money than the anticipated revenues .
WHO do you think picks up the slack in real estate taxes genius ?

I'm beginning to think more and more that you don't know anything Dave , aside from what you hear from your moronic conservative ideologues , and repeat like a parrot .

Davie wanna cracker ? 8-)

I do not appreciate your using a homophobic slur when responding to something I wrote.

Meanwhile, I note how you cleverly miss the question - is Walmart paying less than other retailers - and because of your bias you ignore a legitimate question.

As regards tax breaks, if you knew anything about what I've written time an time again you'd know I am against any and all tax breaks for any and all entities. To fault any company for accepting tax breaks while ignoring the politicians selling favors and social engineering with tax code borders on lunacy - something I see you can relate to.

It is true that nobody works 40 hrs a week because employers are cutting time because of Obamacare. You guys sound like libs with all the name calling. We now have more people working part time (30 hrs) than full time requiring 2 jobs to support their families. When you raise the minimum wage, the cost of production increases and so does the cost to consumers and nothing changes as far as purchasing power.

Don't know where you've been, Cartman, but the time cuts have been increasing steadily for 20 years, at the least. Also, real wages have been declining without producing drops in prices. Quite the opposite.

Perhaps you can explain the improving standard of living, or perhaps you want to deny that there have been improvements in the standards of living for the past 30 years.

Since real wages for the average worker have steadily declined over the past couple of decades a case can be made that there has been no improvement in the standard of living for most Americans.

Yes. Sales associates average 8.81 (full-time), the median is probably worse. Others (McDonalds, Target, Sears) are almost as bad, but others (Lowes, Nordstrom's, Home Depot) are much better -- over $12/hr. Their employee satisfaction is also among the worst (53%, which is actually better than I would have guessed). It isn't slander to say that 600,000 people are underpaid and pissed off.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're against government assistance , or at least its abuse ( I certainly am). Walmart's business model necessitates government assistance for its employees. Why support them at your own expense?
