The US and Europe produce less than a third of the world's CO2. China and India need to keep building coal plants to bring their citizens up to second world status, so no reductions we make will be that meaningful. The best we can do in the short term is to increase our use of natural gas, easily obtainable from fracking. It produces about 1/3 the CO2 for the same amount of energy. Focusing on zero emission technologies is allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good.

A move to the Canary Islands would accomplish this.
70s year round .
The problem is no one knows which language they speak .

Simple fix here. If you can stand living in Der People's Demokratik Republik of Kalifornicommika, San Diego fills your requirements to a tee. You can be my replacement subject (not citizen) because I left in 1980.

No thank you. I'll stay here in Texas.

When they open a hunting season on Californians, I'll purchase all of the required licenses, and tags, and struggle to not exceed my bag limit.

Gee, arch, we could all go for that.. Have to say, the weather is simply the evidence of the problem.. Climate change..

In this case, for this post, I am not advocating anything.. I know none of you guys will every change your mind on Man causing Climate Change..

but I thought it would generate some interest to see what other people in other nations are saying about the current changes and how they have become so common..

If you insist on my recommendations, they are very well known and simple. Reduce our CO2 output as much as possible.. anyway you can think of. but it obviously must be a widespread effort , not just a few of us. that would make no impact at all.. just as tossing out one cig butt on the road means nothing at all but several million make an ugly mess.. I think that the biggest difficulty, if all work at it, would be plastic.. so useful and so wide spread and so hard to substitute for...

so do as you will and so will I.. the world is going to work at it and may or may not cover our butts..

Enjoy your weekend Archie, hope you get some time off..
Gee, arch, we could all go for that.. Have to say,... (show quote)

I have read a lot about that film.. most wonder why it was made and why Moore of all people took the approch. what was he trying to demonstrate..

What did Gore have to do with it.. I still should have a look at it..

very much critiqued for both direction and outdated views.. and no point made..

Little bit from one article about the film..

Planet of the Humans”‘ approach is fundamentally flawed – Gibbs focuses almost exclusively on the imperfections of technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, biomass, and electric cars without considering their ability to reduce carbon and other pollutants. The film suggests that because no source of energy is perfect, all are bad, thus implying that the very existence of human civilization is the problem while offering little in the way of alternative solutions.

Sounds like all of Michel Moore's films. Present a problem offer no solution
