Question? Seems so many rightwingers are all upset about the US ending the Afghanistan war...
But would the rightwingers be just as upset if trump had actually pulled the US forces out by May 31 as he was so proudly boasting about.
And would the Taliban be doing the same thing they are doing now, only they would have started the violence
earlier?
And who is the next empire to try and control the Taliban? Russia, nope they already got a good ass whipping. The US military/industrial complex with their 'contract mercenary' army? No way in hell.
That leaves China if they want to. Maybe they are too smart to play a fool's game.

IMO, China has been backing the Taliban for years.

Why would ending the war in Afghanistan be upsetting us. Obama was the one who said that was where the war should be fought. I'm amazed that anyone would choose to fight in Afghanistan. No foreigner has won a war there in at least 3000 years. We should never have been there.

Perhaps you should told shrub bush that, since he started his 20 year war.

Too bad he didn't listen
At least he didn't focus our efforts there like Obama did.

Many of the GOP expressed their disfavor when Trump said he wanted to pull them out.

Have you had boots on the ground in Afghanistan? If not you have no idea what you're talking about. I saw soldiers die. After about four months in I came to an understanding that we were not there so much to help the Afghan people as to protect the contractors. I meet one, his only job was to install and repair security locks. He may go more than a month without having to do anything. Over a hundred thousand a year, he was on his sixth. So that's over six thousand dollars while soldiers were dying. So yes we should pull out. Alexander the Great, England and Russia could not conquer the country. Afghanistan is tribal but when it comes to invasion from another country and they band together. So if you don't understand these things you are just sitting in your armchair blowing hot air.

True enough, Sarge

The fight was over, and we were evacuating casualties. A Marine had suffered a head wound that had robbed him of the ability to speak. He didn't have his dog tags. The corpsman had put an evac tag on him and expressed concern because he didn't know the Marine's name. The wounded man rolled onto his side and wrote his name in the dirt with his finger, as we watched in stunned silence".
