Afghanistan is disintegrating fast as Biden's troop withdrawal continues

Earlier this week, alone Taliban gunman with a red skull cap and a rifle sauntered up to the gates of Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan's fourth-largest city, and snapped a selfie.

The last time the Taliban controlled the city was 20 years ago when they left hundreds of captives in steel trucking containers to suffocate and die in the scorching desert heat.


Now, the militants are back at the city gates once again, as part of a lightning offensive against Afghan government forces that has set alarm bells ringing from Kabul to Washington.


One by one, the Taliban has been taking over areas in a number of provinces in northern Afghanistan in recent weeks, local officials told CNN. The Taliban says it has taken control of 90 districts across the country since the middle of May. Some were seized without a single shot fired.


The UN's special envoy on Afghanistan, Deborah Lyon put the figure lower, at 50 out of the nation's 370 districts, but told the Security Council on Tuesday she feared the worst was yet to come.


"Most districts that have been taken surround provincial capitals, suggesting that the Taliban are positioning themselves to try and take these capitals once foreign forces are fully withdrawn," Lyon said.

The dire warnings come just two months after President Joe Biden announced that US and NATO troops would withdraw from Afghanistan by September 11.

Leaving was never going to be pretty, but the latest turn is uglier than expected. While the plan was cooked up by the Trump administration, the unseemly consequences are landing in Biden's lap before the pullout has even been completed.

Another war lost! We Lost Korea, lost Vietnam lost Iraq, lost Syria, now we lost Afghanistan. America has forgotten how to win a war! We used to kill the bad guys, now we fix up all their shit, like their roads, install a cell phone system, we fix their water system, fix their power grid. Thinking they will love us if we do all this for them!!

It never works, all we get is a BIG BILL, like Billions of dollars. On top of this, we have to bring thousands of them home with us for helping us or the bad guys will kill them in the middle of the town square so all will see what happens to them for helping Americans!

All the equipment we left for the puppet government will soon be added to the Taliban war chest.
So, What do you think China is thinking? Taiwan is looking easier by the day!!!

We do have one saving grace, we as a people are armed to the teeth, most of us hold many firearms, that fact

Milusia, that is no longer true. That was before our educational system was completely infected by liberal/leftist/communist perverts, before they were elected to offices all over the country, hired by elected officials or appointed in critical jobs.

That sense of unity went out the door in Obama’s first term. His 3rd term is picking up where he left off. By the end of 2022, we will have two carrier fleets partially manned by misfits. We will only be able to fly 40% of military aircraft at any given time. Any officers with ear experience will be gone. Special force units will be depleted or every male, female, it will be handed a badge & beret in any rainbow color of their choosing.

Orders for ships, planes will be canceled, shipyards will close.

China will not have to fire a shot. The American Armed Forces will be turned over to the UN exactly as Obama planned to do while was in office. If they invade, there is not a major city in the country that will not give them keys to the city.

Good idea, but won't happen, you know. We have not fought to win a war since WWII. It is, as you say, simply to keep the military industrial complex getting richer and richer. Much blood on the hands of our government, both parties for continuing. I do not believe that politicians are stupid enough to believe that we can buy anyone's friendship or cooperation, nor should we get into or stay in situations simply to keep our enemies from going in. That is nonsense-if our enemies want to fight in Afghanistan, an unconquerable place, let them waste their resources and manpower. But they are not so dumb as to do that. So what do they tell the widows and orphans of military that did not come home but died in that war no one wanted to win-or the vets who came back wounded, mentally, physically and emotionally-none of that matters? Sorry you were duped into thinking you were actually fighting for your country, when in fact you were fighting for the rich to get richer. I come from a long line of military people, in all branches of service. My son served and retired from the Navy, and I would do all in my power to dissuade him if he were looking at serving today. I am proud of him and his service, especially after 9/11, but would not encourage him to do it again now.
