When States Don't Want CRT "Taught", What Is It Exactly That They Have A Problem With?
CRT is not the simple history of slavery and the struggle between slave states and those that fought to free slaves. It's not the manner that southern states oppressed blacks and treated them like second class citizens...and those who say that didn't happen would be forgetting segregation, black drinking fountains, sections in the back of the bus, restrooms, restaurants, etc. etc. This is not the theory of Critical Race Theory, this is history, ugly yes, but history.
Racists...the GOP, red states don't want any aspect of anything that covers anything to do with racism...slavery, history of what was going on with red states versus blue states, the pressure slave states put on the whole issue, the pressure put on slaves after they were free...the right does not want any of this covered. Their rhetoric is that teaching kids about the harsh realities of what went on between slave owners and people who didn't agree with it is divisive and teaches people to hate our country... That kids can't learn about the realities surrounding racism without hating the country.
One thing I can assure you that learning about slavery and the racism that took place in the south that is still there would "teach", is to be thoroughly repulsed by racism and those who still are. It's no wonder the right doesn't want ugly realities of how blacks have been treated throughout history to be taught in school...
But that is not Critical Race Theory...that is a whole different hypothesis about how racism has become entrenched in our history, and that would have no real place in grade school prior to colleges teaching that theory.

It's obvious I know more than you do because you posted an article that has absolutely nothing to do with what CRT is...which proves my point, that there are not that many people that have a clue what it is.
This could get you on the right track, here's a hint, it's taught in colleges, now figure out what it is they are learning

It is a THEORY - it simply uses Marxism as a basis for advocating 'social justice'. Read the article and learn.
"Critical race theory is an academic discipline, formulated in the 1990s, built on the intellectual framework of identity-based Marxism. Relegated for many years to universities and obscure academic journals, over the past decade it has increasingly become the default ideology in our public institutions. It has been injected into government agencies, public school systems, teacher training programs, and corporate human resources departments in the form of diversity training programs, human resources modules, public policy frameworks, and school curricula."

CRT itself is not the problem. It is just a theory. Like many other unproven theories. The problem is CRT embraces negative conclusions that are not up for debate and applies them to broad swatches of social groups purely by race which is in itself racist. If you are white you are a privileged racist oppressor from birth. If you are black you are a victim purely due to your skin color from birth. That conclusion is then used to paint individuals as automatically the same oppressor or victim as the group your skin color assigns to you. Regardless of anything else an individual does, regardless of his character, he is always black or white first. Again, obviously racist. And finally, CRT is used to teach children this same racist theory. Instead of an uplifting inclusive message like MLK promoted, it is a negative divisive demoralizing message. Especially to children who are most likely not even aware of racism. That, in a nutshell, is the problem with CRT. Not the theory itself, but, the conclusions and application.

I agree that it was a time in our history that was wrong and should be taught as fact not as a theory to divide. I grew up in the fields hoeing and pickin cotton along side other kids, some just happened to be black. Made friends that I still have today. Where was my white privilege? We were all poor. Spent thirty-eight years in the Army living with and training soldiers, some just happened to be black and brown that I miss. Worked in the Mississippi Delta six years, still have black friends there I miss. It's easy for someone that has never lived the other side to condemn. It's history and should be taught as history. I still remember watching Dr. King on black and white TV. Listening to his speeches, he inspired me to be a better person and to treat people by their character not by their color.

This is "not" a situation of teaching "theory, principle, integrity, morality, or anything else....it is merely "HISTORY"...It happened, & we could actually "learn", form the mistakes of the inhumanity of the past...Public education, wants to "brainwash our youth", & even the students in universities....
We "taxpayers", allow our Government to subsidize these "fornicators in education"....with our tax dollars!
OMG! why do we allow that? ? ? ? ? ? ?

You have no clue what CRT "teaches" It's a Marxist based way of dividing people by skin color. It is racism.
By the way Republicans have no problem with looking back on history. You must have forgotten that it was and still is the Democratic Party that supports racism.

The problem any reasonable person, whether left or right, has with the so called teachers of CRT is that they do not simply report history, they impose their interpretation of the history & not just the facts. 2 + 2 = 4, it does not matter that you want it to = 5. Me not wanting to listen to your BS does not make me a racist, it makes me independently able to think for myself.

Thank you. If someone has not seen the belly of the beast they have know idea. If your on a firing line with a mob trying to break down the gate, in a fire hole knowing they are out there or pinned down in desert. You don't care if the person beside you is black white brown red or pink polka dot. All you care is they have your 6 like you have theirs.
