This is a statement published in a major WV newspaper with Joe Manchin explaining his stance on partisanship
He has a point. Folks didn't appreciate having stuff rammed down their throats when the GOP controlled everything, and they're not in the mood to have dems do it.

"Unfortunately, we now are witnessing that the fundamental right to vote has itself become overtly politicized.
Today’s debate about how to best protect our right to vote and to hold elections, however, is not about finding common ground, but seeking partisan advantage. Whether it is state laws that seek to needlessly restrict voting or politicians who ignore the need to secure our elections, partisan policymaking won’t instill confidence in our democracy — it will destroy it...
"I believe that partisan
voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For the People Act. Furthermore, I will not vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster."
Hmm, sounds a lot like what Republicans have been saying that most leftists have been claiming is "racist".
So it appears he's a DINO, the left's version of a RINO. I'll have to try and remember that when leftists try to blame anything a RINO does on all Conservatives.

He didn’t mention a no vote is a vote For Jim Crow.
Talk about ramming things down their throats.
