Thank You FallenOak... Talk about seeing it as I read it simply magnetic pulling the heart and tears down to Flanders fields...
I will be keeping this please.
Feeling proud and once again βhumbledβ in all its truth...
It's good to exercise the full emotional gambit and all its tributaries, including pride and humility. Today, so much is occupied by anger and distrust. And sadness because anger and distrust dominate the political range.
It is the current political landscape. It's nice to have a respite.

Lindajoy, good to read your post again. You always give deep insight and hit the nail on the head. I agree it's not a day to be happy. A weekend to be with family and friends to enjoy the freedom that our fallen have given us. It's a day for me of prayer and reflection of those that gave the most. Having survived two wars and losing troops, every day for me is memorial day. For me the last scene from Saving Private Ryan, when he asks his wife if he has lived a good life sums it all up. If we are not living to honor our Country as they did, then their lives were in vain.
Lindajoy, good to read your post again. You always... (

A necessity if we are to render that anger and distrust neutralized, without effect, to combat its leverage in the political landscape and that of we the people...
Yes, nice to have a respite..β¨π«π
Thank you who found the poem "In Flanders Fields" good. I thought of my family history as I was reading comments. I have had ancestors in most of the wars. The Revolution, the War of 1812, Civil War on both sides, WWI, WWII, Korea, Viet Nam.
