Raising children is a real challenge, some of their biggest influences are who the befriend. I wish we could put all children and innocents in a protective safe environment, unfortunately children of inner cities don't get that luxury and I wish we could have a special focus on them, they are the most vulnerable.
I do not have a son, but if I did, his leash would have been even stricter! And yes, it can have a backlash. Rules, especially strict ones for children, have to be administered with love, kindness, and discernment for individual personality traits. It is VERY hard And very time consuming. That my wife and I were successful is confirmed by how our daughters turned out.....thanks to our committed efforts and the Blessings of God! Some parents do not have the ability to do what we did, and that is a tragedy.
