Probably because of Trump's closest advisors, who also had the same mission as the FBI etc.

This is one of the very biggest problems. J. Edgar Hoover kept a tight rein on the FBI. As soon as he died, I knew that its days as an independent agency were over. It is now a Stasi or KGB for the predidency.

It is a huge problem but the logistics of getting a new system up and running would take years

Trump should have axed all of them and sent them to the minor leagues where they could work on cases like, "Who stole Tommy's tricycle" or "determining the difference between a noose and a garage door rope puller".
