No firearms were found at the Capitol....So what we have here, folks were peaceful protesting!

And the question is unanswered: And how can Republicans 'prevent' an investigation?

The truth will never be known, especially if the Republicans can keep preventing an investigation.
Trump was president with absolute authority.
To believe that Nance overrode his orders is absurd
His request, not orders. He did not have that authority. That authority is under the auspices of Congress. It was the job of Pelosi.

Show me that, or are you making it up?

Since DC has no governor, both the President and the Congress have the authority to call up the DC National Guard.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_National_Guard#Unique_lawAccording to Jane Campbell, the president and CEO of the U..S. Capitol Historical society, Capitol Complex security is the direct responsibility of a four-member Capitol Police Board, which includes both the House and Senate sergeants-at-arms, who report to the leaders of those chambers. Note -- the president is not included!
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is a federal law enforcement agency in the United States charged with protecting the United States Congress within the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories. It answers to the Capitol Police Board and is the only full-service federal law enforcement agency appointed by the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Capitol_PoliceOn Jan 4, Pelosi refused offer of 10,000 National Guard, or an increase in Capitol Police.

But the Speaker of the House had the authority to cancel the guard deployment.

Interesting. What actually transpired that day will be debated for a long time

Minimizing what happened on January 6 at the Capitol with "it will be debated for a long time" is dodging what the real question is:
If you say the "truth will never be known, especially if Republicans keep preventing an investigation", when it's Pelosi who cancelled Trump's order of 10,000 National Guardsmen
days before the riot, then why are you blaming Trump for the riot when you should be blaming Pelosi for removing the protection that would have prevented the riot from starting in the first place?

All speculation
And remember....Trump has been exonerated of the charges that he incited a riot. He was found not guilty...acquitted...the charges were dismissed. You can keep on shouting that he was impeached if it makes you feel better, but the fact remains that he was not convicted.
It's time you remember this, and move on...maybe turn your efforts into dealing with how your Cheater-in-Chief is ruining this country?

He was acquitted by cohorts. That is so unAmerican. Or was

Cohorts??? You can
say whatever you like about it - But our government does not work according to the rules of RascalRiley, it works according to the laws of our Constitution. Sometimes it works in favor of Democrats sometimes for Republicans. If you don't like how the Senate is constructed, there's nothing you can do about it. If you don't like the Senators who represent the state you live in, vote for someone else when their term is over.
Elections are rigged. What is the point of voting?

Funny, in the history of the US, we’re only thinking ‘rigged elections’ after Trump lost.

Republicans have been rigging elections for years.

You weren't shouting "rigged elections" when Trump won???

Correct. We were shocked, but nobody started whining about a rigged election. That’s a Trump thing.
