Many posters use that technique to find out which people are curious and which ones need to have the plot laid out for them before starting the article.

Yes, you are correct.. I see lots of that done.. And I always find it irritating..

The biggest problem is that my poor Internet service takes several minutes to pull up any video, including YouTube..

the wait seems so long.. I want to know if the subject is interesting without all the time lost..

Hope exists though, the super duper service has been wired in, even down this old road.. now will I pay more for the service, even while I am forced to pay taxes for the construction.. without a subscription, I can not get the service which I pay $150 plus per year for..

have to see the cost etc, if I blow by top or buy the new service.. same provider that serves up the crap I have now..

Sorry about the slow service. Mine often sucks too and I'm in a big city. I often wish that posters would copy and paste whenever possible because we do have issues with other sites etc, and just addresses don't work for everyone.

Wow! THAT is something that SHOULD be taught in our public schools, as well as the rest of our Founding Fathers, who promised to give "our lives, our fortunes, our sacred honor".

What is interesting to me, having read a lot of history about our founders and their thinking, is that the man who maintained that "all men are created equal" did not free his own slaves, because he thought they would not be able to thrive on their own-so much for created equal, huh?-and his Louisiana Purchase was about as big a power grab as any today-he had no authority to make that purchase, no matter how good a deal it was, or how great for us it turned out to be-if you look at it, Congress went along after the fact, but Jefferson did not seek Congressional approval. Not sure what would have happened if he had not gotten it-probably not much, since he was mostly well respected and viewed as smart, which he was, but he was not wise-if he were, he would have prepared his slaves for emancipation upon his death, by teaching them to read and do math-I know it was simply not done back then but he could have done it. I am by no means trying to downplay his accomplishments, but his refusal to acknowledge the children born to him by his slave, shows a lack of moral direction. His lack of financial acumen shows itself in the problems he had with his farm...Yes, he was a great and intelligent man, which was sorely needed, but he was most assuredly a flawed smart man. He, as most of us, was sometimes contradictory between his statements and his actions. But he was certainly an interesting study. Too bad he destroyed personal letters he received from his daughter when she was in France. He felt that interest in them would be larger than necessary.
