From LA get on any east moving freeway. They are called FREEways because they are free to get onto, not because they move autos freely along the way. Mostly STOP and a little GO. Then When you get to the I-15 freeway turn and go south. When you reach the State route 78 get off and go west and you will arrive in Vista. If you get off too late you will have arrived in Carlsbad or Oceanside or the Pacific Ocean which you will recognize because your car will get all wet. If you choose to go south on the 5 Freeway (same problem of little free moving) you will need to get off the I-5 somewhere south of Oceanside which is quite noticeable because it sits right next to the Pacific Ocean. Again you will get off on the State Highway 78 but this time travel east. If you go in the afternoon you will not be bothered by the pesky sun being in your eyes. If you had traveled the road in 1950 you would know the area by the avocado trees but now look for the many houses lining the road. If you go too gar east you will reach San Diego Wild Animal Park which called that because of the wild animals, mostly lethargic, living on the hills in very large enclosures. Sometimes you can get elephant rides but beware of the lions because of their voracious appetites at mealtime. Enjoy your trip as the Zoo is world famous but is located in California.
