I'm not. I favor death as a sentence, but not when it takes millions of dollars and decades to carry out such a sentence.

So you ok with murderer sitting in prison for 20 yrs.??? But you're right about one thing...it should not take 20 yrs to put somebody to death....

They sit in prison for 20 years ( or more ) WHILE ON DEATH ROW, enjoying private cells, taxpayer funded appeals, and all the other perks of prison life.

That's why it shouldn't take 20 yrs on Death Row....Maximum it should take 5 yrs... :

If there is proof of guilt beyond the jury's determination, then yes, otherwise no.
If the accused person admits guilt or DNA proves guilt or other circumstances that absolutely determine guilt, then by all means, put them out of society's misery as soon as possible.
If they claim innocence and/or questions still exist about their guilt, then no.

I've found French's spicy to be to my liking lately.

In China they're allowed one appeal... Then sentence is carried out within the year... .
Chinese prisons don't really have perks either

I'm with JW. The evidence of guilt must be rock solid. I remember several murderers who were eventually let out of prison in Texas, only to go on to commit several more murders. Sickening.

I do believe in the death penalty, but I believe that a higher level of proof should be required.
I would suggest that the death penalty should require proof beyond any shadow of a doubt.
Beyond a "reasonable" doubt is just not good enough for me. Too many things in life are not "reasonable".

Now,let's look at "other issues", of similar nature: Abortion...{ Supreme court has issued an inhumane proclamation on that issue}...is "THAT"...Not murder"? What did the babies "DO", to warrant that death sentence?
