Equitable distribution of wealth without working.
In Texas, State Representative Terry Meza (D-Irving) has introduced HB196. Her bill would repeal the state's "Castle Doctrine." This doctrine allows a homeowner to use deadly force against an armed intruder who breaks into his home.
Now listen to what she has to say...
"I'm not saying that stealing is okay," Meza explained. "All I'm saying is that it doesn't warrant a death penalty. Thieves only carry weapons for self-protection and to provide the householder an incentive to cooperate. They just want to get their loot and getaway. When the resident tries to resist is when people get hurt. If only one side is armed fewer people will be killed."
Meza was quick to reassure that her bill would not totally prevent homeowners from defending themselves.
Under her new law, the homeowner's obligation is to flee the home at the first sign of intrusion. If fleeing is not possible, he must cooperate with the intruder. But if violence breaks out it is the homeowner's responsibility to make sure no one gets hurt. The best way to achieve this is to use the minimum non-lethal force possible because intruders will be able to sue for any injuries they receive at the hands of the homeowner.
"In most instances, the thief needs the money more than the homeowner does," Meza reasoned. "The homeowner's insurance reimburse his losses. On balance, the transfer of property is likely to lead to a more equitable distribution of wealth. If my bill can help make this transfer a peaceful one so much the better."
Now we can all see how the LEFT thinks or doesn't! Equitable distribution of wealth without working.
This woman is an idiot. These people should have to have IQ test before running a relay race letting alone running for office. Criminals carry weapons to "insure" they succeed. They don't want to do hand to hand combat with a home owner that might whip their ass or a dog that might give them a "run for the money". What if when the criminal's in the house and your unarmed but he is and he takes a liking to your 13 year old "does he deserve to die then". Listen, being a criminal is a business and if you choose this business , then you choose the risk. Just like with military, police, firemen, etc.

And what about the times when the intruder is intending rape? Does that, too, fall under "redistributing the wealth?" I guess it is unfair and racist for me to have exclusive rights to my wife. I should be willing to share with those less fortunate. Hmmmm. Maybe we should post this woman's home address. I'm sure she doesn't need everything in her house, and a lot of illegal immigrants are hungry, broke, and deprived of sox.

Agreed, let's start by taking down the walls, fences, security around homes of Dems, disarm them and fire their security. Since this is their ideal, I think they should have the privilege of its benefits first.

Good information. I will look into it some more.
I think it also should go for rape. The guy just want to pop a load. Just lay down, remove all clothing form the waist down and spread their legs. Maybe even provide some good lube.

This woman needs to try and break into my house. Her political career and anti-2nd Amendment push will be shortened by the time it takes her to enter my house illegally with intent to take my property and harm my family!!!

OK, friends. I did some research. Ms. Meza is NOT a friend of the 2ndA, but she apparently did not write this stuff. I could not find a single source, even among gun supporters, that says she did. These statements are from comments made by a satirist, named John Semmens, who was lampooning Ms. Meza. His satire have taken on a life of their own, and are being repeated as being true, and a lot of good people are repeating it in good faith....but it is not accurate. Here are some sources, and the actual wording of the bill is included:

Good catch, Slat. This writer Semmens seems to be making a living out of bending the news."Good work if you can get it", they say. Unfortunately it stirs up an already cross-threaded news climate, as you see in this thread.

Satire usually has a lot of truth attached to it. It can actually be more factual than 5th hand sources that demonrats proclaim to be more credible than 1st hand sources. Just ask those that tried to crucify Justice Kavanaugh.

I really enjoy good satire....and I agree with you....the truth in it is what makes it good. However, it should ALWAYS be clearly identified as satire. In this case, like so many others, that got left behind. Ms. Meza's proposed amendment to the castle doctrine law here in Texas is bad enough that it does not need exaggeration to make it seem worse.

"What's to amend", eh
Don't you ever tire of being wrong
I may well have more weapons than you, and am a strong advocate of former Justice Scalia's majority decision in the Heller decision of 2008.
