I disagree that electric vehicles are counter productive. It's a free choice some make whether they wish an ICE vehicle or electric vehicle. I agree that today, electrical capacity wouldn't support every vehicle suddenly being switched from ICE to electric. But then again, every battery vehicle isn't charging at the exact same instant. Every been in a natural disaster I try to get gas. Same problem till the tanker truck arrives.

True if there is a tornato/hurrican or as Texas had a bad winter storm where is the electric to charge these fancy climate changers

Or electricity to put gasoline in cars? You make a good point. A lot of electric vehicle owners charged their cars ahead of the storm. Used then to stay warm from the fewstoried I read.

I can see this in the future but they have to up grade our electrical grid solar cant handle the load and nether can wind there is simply to many people we had a huge field of solar panels here they lasted 5 years and they got rid of them because they were not cost effective and with our weather here were more of a possible life threat during bad weather and high wind all these alternatives have their own environment issues maintenance plus the materials their made from

One thing no one has seemed to mention is the highways. That's where a lot of tax goes when purchasing gasoline. Well, all electric cars, no money to fix roads. So guess what the cost of electricity will to do. Probably out weight the cost of gasoline and repairs associated with it. And probably a lot of quiet cars running into each for lack of not hearing them. I've came might close to hitting one once because it made as much noise as bicycle – none.

Trump provided a large amount for states to do roads and bridges what they did is anyones guess. I do know when I drove from Georgia to Texas there was a lot of roads being upgraded in Georgia,Alabama,Miss,Louisiana and just beyond the Texas line

Probably for military purposes who knows anymore that's the old story be used for (highways ) Hitler wasn't really for us . We mite as well face it as far as electric cars are only good for parades gulf carts & gadgets they hate cold ,wet & hot three strikes against them .
The Model T Ford got 25 mile to the gallon an mort cars or trucks still don't get that an not do they cost more and more to fix to . Tires are better now heaters in cars but lot fancy options are teasers to sell aren't making cars of trucks better at all .
The steel & plastic , metal is so thin even door pins are thinner nothing but tin cans going down the road no chassis rust into an the Motors an electronics are another story from hell ( junk quality ) make sure you look up all you buy as each one has tons of problems seems nothing ever perfected anymore for the good an last . We use to make good stuff now a junk & cost alot more ( prices through the roof ) A car cost as much or more than a house boy have we been took for a ride an can't even make it home . How the hell do they get away with it.

Because we have sat back and let them we are the employers but at this point after not paying any attention we have become passengers on a runaway train that now has no brakes

Everything has unintended consequences. Unless deep research is done beforehand, any major change will no doubt have a severe unintended consequence. Tearing down all the old natural gas peaking plants is stupid. Some of them need to be held in reserve for emergencies. Complete 'Green Power' will require peaking plants or huge battery banks. It appears that the people making life and death decisions are not aware of the science that makes an electric grid work and be secure. Wind and solar are available at the whim of Mother Nature. Hydro, gas and coal are available almost instantly at the whim of the operator. The only way to go totally 'Green' is with reserve battery banks. Battery tech isn't advanced enough at present.
