Full integration since 1971, affirmative action started after WWII with notable advances in 1961-1964. Quotas were put into place for affirmative action which exists even now.

So, after more than a full 50 years of equal education K-12 by the masses and you assume that minorities are incapable of getting IDs and voting? You must be racist!

Equal opportunities exist. Go for it instead of whining. After all, affirmative action gives minorities the edge.

I'll be glad to answer your question. Closing polls on Sunday is one way. Many black churches have a tradition of voting together after church on Sunday. Now they won't be able to.
Stopping people from voting by an extreme closing of polling places in minority neighborhoods is another.
Closing polls early is another.
Not allowing people to vote early, not allowing people to vote without identification, even though they have to sign in at the polls is yet another.
Redistricting to spread minority votes over many other other congressional districts is another even though strictly speaking it doesn't stop people or make it more difficult to vote is another. I'm sure there are more that I just can't think of right now. All this came about because Justice Scalia and other misguided Supreme Court Justices said that the voting rights act was no longer needed. Boy, were they wrong!

You are a progressive so I imagine waiting in line longer than 15 minutes for something as trivial as voting, frosts your sorry butt. Voting places are the responsibility of the State. Apparently, you have no experience that counts...but, it is easy-peasy.

As I wrote & suggested, take your pick from any one of up to ten links on each of at least 6+ pages of links. If the ones not dated to your satisfaction do not suit you, there are plenty of others from which to choose. My guess is that you would not be happy with any explanation that wasn't in line with your way of thinking. That is your prerogative, but don't blame the dates on one or more links offered as an excuse not to check into other responses to the initial thread question.

Thanks slats... one of the few that came with a disclaimer telling that it is a composite.. but I think that is pretty clear so I did not bother to post the info..

What is your opinion about lines that take six or more hours in Atlanta?

Then how about long lines and the Georgia election board reduces the number of polling stations, reduced hours and days, and interfering with voting by mail?

If you can defend anything but increasing everything necessary to shorten wait times to vote your opinion is biased and worthless.
