United States has the largest Christian population in the world. There are 205 million. 70.6 % are Christians but that include 1.6 % Mormons, and .6% of Jehovah's Witness.
Evangelicals and Protestant like Catholics believe in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, One God forever.
Atheists have grown due to different beliefs how they were born. Male believe they are female. These are confused people not knowing who they really are. Perhaps Wood belong to this category.
Mormons believe in Jesus as the son of God, not the Father. Likewise Jehovah's Witness too.

They didn't go extinct... They interbred with homo sapiens...
Europeans and Asians contain between 10~15% Neanderthal DNA...
Interestingly, Sub Saharan Africans contain less than 1%....

The only thing missing is children as we don't have any. The clothing may be different but what's in our hearts is the same.
