Well all we need to do is print lots of money and we all can be rich! So simple.
ARE WE REALLY THIS SCREWED UP?
Have you ever wondered why very few Hawaiians are working when you visit those islands? All but a few States on the following list are strongholds ---so go figure!
The Cato Institute released an updated 2016 study showing that welfare benefits pay more than a minimum wage job in 33 American states and the District of Columbia.
Even worse, welfare pays more than $15 per hour to stay home in 13 states.
According to the study, welfare benefits have increased faster than
minimum wage. It's now more profitable to sit at home and watch TV than it is to earn an honest day's pay.
Hawaii is the biggest offender, where welfare recipients earn $29.13per hour or a $60,590 yearly salary for doing nothing.
Here is the list of the states where the pre-tax equivalent "salary"
that welfare recipients receive is higher than having a job:
1. Hawaii : $60,590
2. District of Columbia :$50,820 l
3. Massachusetts : $50,540
4. Connecticut : $44,370
5. New York : $43,700
6. New Jersey : $43,450
7. Rhode Island : $43,330
8. Vermont : $42,350
9. New Hampshire:39,750
10. Maryland : $38,160
11. California : $37,160
12 Oregon : $34,300
13. Wyoming : $32,620
14. Nevada : $29,820
15. Minnesota : $29,350
16. Delaware : $29,220
17. Washington : $28,840
18. North Dakota : $28,830
19. Pennsylvania : $28,670
20. New Mexico : $27,900
21. Montana : $26,930
22. South Dakota : $26,610
23. Kansas: $26,490
24. Michigan : $26,430
25. Alaska : $26,400
26. Ohio : $26,200
27. North Carolina : $25,760
28. West Virginia : $24,900
29. Alabama : $23,310
30. Indiana : $22,900
31. Missouri : $22,800
32. Oklahoma : $22,480
33. Louisiana : $22,250
34 South Carolina : $21,910
Hawaii, DC, and Massachusetts pay more in welfare than the average wage folks earn there.
Is it any wonder that they stay home rather than look for a job.
Time for a drastic change... Americans are not stupid, or are we?
Note that California is $18.50 an hour. Are we Nuts or what? How do we un-do this type of stupidity?
Now if you think that's bad, read about these salaries:
Salary of retired United States Presidents $180,000 FOR LIFE Salary of House/Senate...$174,000 FOR LIFE.
This is beyond stupid! Salary of Speaker of the House ..$223,500 FOR LIFE! This is really stupid.
Salary of Majority/Minority Leader $193,400 FOR LIFE! Ditto last line.
Average Salary of a teacher ... $40,065 Average Salary of Soldier
DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN.. $38,000 Think about this!
Nancy Pelosi will retire as a Congress Person at $174,000 Dollars a year for LIFE. She will retire as SPEAKER at $223,500 a year Plus she will receive an additional $193,400 a year for when she was Minority Leader, the fact that she has become rich while in office notwithstanding.
That's $803,700 Dollars a year for LIFE including FREE medical which is not available to us.... the taxpayers. She is just one of the hundreds of Senators and Congresspersons that float in and out of Congress every year!
AND, can you imagine paying AOC these sums for life, will we are!

Let's see; if that's true and those States think a welfare living wage is higher than an actual living wage................why don't they increase the wage and make work more attractive?
This isn't rocket science. Oh, BTW, thanks for making the case for $15 minimum wage..........................apparently dems hire rocket scientists to advise them.

Vet, I don't think that option is going to play with liberals.

Yes, Democrats or many who think the Constitution is a living document, among others.

But, but, where, o , where will they work,
Pray tell ?
Why would that be a better option ?
If you consider, it isn’t about the benefits, it’s about getting money circulating in the private and public sectors, it isn’t so crazy.
How would you go about creating a thriving economy?
First you need demand for goods and services.
Next you need a way to pay for those goods and services.
Which once there is a demand for goods and services there will also be a demand for employees.
Reagan’s Voodoo economics has only destroyed most of what this country once was.
It didn’t work.
Or in your case , you think supply side economics is just peachy.

A document that allows you kill and maim police officers with flagpoles.
Or to storm the Capital trying to overthrow a valid and legal vote certification as ordered in the Constitution ?
It really may be you who doesn’t understand.

What I don't understand is, in what way does the Constitution allow killing and maiming anyone. As far as overthrowing the vote, I think the Constitution allows peaceful demonstration. I will lay the Jan 6 melee at the feet of the Capital police or whoever was responsible for protection that day when they knew full well there were going to be thousands there. With all due respect, I think it is you you doesn't understand. Singling out Jan 6 while ignoring riots throughout the summer is another thing I don't understand. I would ask you to explain that but somehow I feel your explanation would not be quite accurate.
At the outset, the quantity of dollars given to these politicians in their retirement appears "unjust." And it is if it is assumed to be "money." But "currency" is not "money." Land, gold, and silver are "money." Because of the predicted "hyperinflation," if these politicians do not have the "money" but only the "currency," they may not have enough to buy the wheelbarrow to cart it to the store to buy a loaf of bread. Too, "currency" production is going "digital." As the Dominion machines proved that ballots can be changed to the desire of the programmer, the "salaries" of politicians can as well be changed. The investors who own the private central bank, the Federal Reserve, are in charge of our "elected politicians." Our nation either goes along with their program of control, triangulated between London, Washington D.C, to keep the "dollar IOU backed by nothing" currency as the "world reserve" power, or they will destroy this nation. We are at a time in our country much like the time of our revolution brought on by our founders who saw what the British "banksters" were doing. "Freedom" in terms of our originally written constitution was written to show that it meant having real money, gold, and silver coins to buy land and to own it without "debt." The Byzantine empire lasted for 800 years because they did not inflate their gold and silver coins.

I think it is clear that those who push for the political $15/hour minimum wage are blind to the entire issue.

The issue being that middle income wages have not gone up while executive and management pay has gone up a staggering amount.

It is funny how that argument comes from so many of the highly paid executive and management ilk; kind of like Bernie's socialism and his multiple homes.

So leaving 15 states that provide over $15.00 is acceptable?
And, it's doubtful the others would get off their dead asses and work
unless the wage was considerably over that $15.00.

You are correct about that! The minimum wage has been a political football for decades. When I was in high school it was 75 cents and I had trouble getting my grocery store job because of it. When I finally landed it, I worked my fanny off to try to justify myself. Today it's viewed as an entitlement. There was no way I expected to be able to support myself on a minimum wage but now, lack of being able to do that is used as a reason to increase it. It's nonsense.
