Shutting down power plants is what caused the power problem. This winter event has nothing to do with any vortex change anywhere except in the minds of clueless greenies. Can’t you understand the countries all of you seem to worship because you don’t know what they are really like, the Scandinavian countries, depend on German power plants to support their green grid bs.

The most mentally challenged people in their knowledge of the power system are in CA where they are not going to import any electricity from nuclear, coal, or gas plants. I hate to bust their bubble but electricity has no markers of how it was produced. It could be generated by burning the most toxic poisons known to mankind or burning bodies & still would be the same. One of the vulnerabilities of our grid is all electrical generators are connected at the same time routinely. In the past we had plants that were hot, idling, but not on line. Because they were not on line they were not vulnerable to catastrophes. CA may be getting power room a nuclear plant in GA or a coal fired plant in CO, any gas fired plant. Electricity is a commodity, trades among producers. When we had to take a generating station down for repair/routine maintenance, we could not bring equipment on site until we had bonded contracts from twice the number of generators we needed to take up the load & for twice as long as planned. It was not as hard back then since there were more sources available & some idling stations existed.

I should have said "not enough electricity". But for those that have been without electricity for hours and who's houses are cold with frozen pipes, it's no electricity. It's not like this is the first time it's happened.

Catch 22: the pumps didn’t have electricity to pump the gas out of the ground so the power grid failed to deliver exacerbating the situation.

Looks like “ERCOT” Electrical Reliability Council Of Texas will have wipe the egg off their faces and to go back to the drawing boards on their Emergency Operations Plan if they even have one!
