All 10 former US defence secretaries still living, including two who worked for Donald Trump, have called for the president and his supporters to accept he lost the election and warned against attempts to involve the military in his increasingly desperate efforts to overturn the result.

In an unprecedented joint letter published in the Washington Post, the defence secretaries addressed the worst fears of what could happen in 17 days of Trump’s administration remaining before Joe Biden’s inauguration: an attempt by Trump to foment a crises with the aim of triggering a military intervention in his last-ditch struggle to hold on power.

“Efforts to involve the US armed forces in resolving election disputes would take us into dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory,” the letter said.

“Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.”

It shouldn't have to get to that point. Biden should just admit he cheated and save America the trouble. 400 fraud specialists are investigating the e election claiming obvious fraud took place. So those 10 hacks are all probably deep state scum

The thing is--look at the rollout of the vaccine for the coronavirus...supposed to be 20 million by January 1 and there was only 2 to 3 million if that. Trump is a failure at everything he does so how is he going to orchestrate a coup? Everything about him makes the keystone cops look like the most successful police force in the world. Wake me up when it's over because I think it's going to be about as exciting as an elephant fighting a pig...one squish and it's over...

So who were those fraud specialists? The ones that Trump hired said no fraud took place. On top of that, there's not a single state that found any fraud--of any significance, 2 dead people voted in Georgia--that would demand that we should do the election over.

What you conservatives don't seem to understand about democracy is that you don't get to do it over until you get the vote count that you want. Trump was given opportunity after opportunity but the votes just weren't there to change the outcome. The thing about politics is that there is a winner and a loser. In this case, Biden won the election and Donnie Trump ended up the loser! You guys need to get over it and move on...
