The fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, was a policy that required the holders of broadcast licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced. The FCC eliminated the policy in 1987 and removed the rule that implemented the policy from the Federal Register in August 2011.[1]

I can say the same thing about the ones on CNN, MSNBC and CBS, and the difference is, I would be right and you would be wrong!

How crazy can you be? Obama was never involved and Reagan was the instigator in removing it.

That's an uncomfortable fact the left will never admit. It doesn't matter. The Fairness Doctrine was the one thing that held the media to political fairness. It was kinda the media's version of voter ID. We've seen how abolishing THAT has turned out......

Obama's EO was instrumental in having it wiped from the books. We've been over this. At this point doesn't matter who, just the lousy results we're left with. Kinda the the no ID laws have left us with lousy results.

Recently, a post on Facebook described former President Ronald Reagan as the "The Father of Fake News" and argued to "Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine."

"Ronald Reagan's FCC abolished the Fairness Doctrine which, since 1949, required media to present both sides' opinions in the rare event they weren't just reporting straight news," the post explained.

"A Democrat-controlled Congress passed a bill to re-instate the Fairness Doctrine in 1987. Reagan vetoed the bill," it continued. "Fox News followed in the 1990s. America is now more polarized and misinformed than ever."

I never heard Carlson or Hannity claim to be other than pundits and opinionated. They have never claimed to be news

So, you think having thousands of people rallying during covid is a good idea? Biden did not.
