Don't get me wrong...I've written a couple times that current American leadership, age-wise, is starting to look a whole lot like the Kremlin before the downfall of the USSR. I don't think that rests on the shoulders of Trump or Biden solely. They're all old.

As for being white.....well. I do have some thoughts. I doubt the vast majority of Americans think that skin color disqualifies someone from a job. I'm an optimist. That doesn't make me blind to what I've seen and experienced about race in the nation. I am glad to see a black Senator from Ga. The US House and Senate are starting to look more and more like the nation I live in. It'll be interesting to watch a fire brand come to grips with the Senate.
And since I've lived look enough to see a black President, I know that will happen again. Will I live long enough to see when none of this is surprising? We'll see...

I'm also not concerned, nor shocked, about what happened Wednesday. I dreaded 2020, politically. The potential for a major explosion seemed ripe all year. In the end, the election itself ran rather smoothly, and for that I'm thankful. The process has run it's course. I said Trump should file as many lawsuits and challenges as he wants and is his right. He did all of that, and more. Challenging the validity of an election run under his watch is mind boggling.
