Does the black congressional caucus allow whites? We have black history month but no white history month. You proclaim black live matter but don't white lives matter as well? Or all lives matter for that matter. Maybe you should ask your question of the 'reverends' Sharpton & Jackson.

Somehow I get tangled up when a semantic battle is going on. Perceptions are often in conflict with definitions. I do grasp the distinction between majority and white privilege, and then my mind goes through the logic of:
OK, the majority has privileges, and they are mostly white, so the white majority has privileges. Is this a distinction without a difference?

The first paragraph says 280 people live in the village of Murdock. Then the third paragraph says 50,000 people signed a petition. Either all of the 280 people in Murdock signed the petition with each person in Murdock signing 279 times or a bunch of people outside the town put their noses in someone else's business. Brings to my mind the admonition that before you try to remove the splinter from another persons eye you had best look to remove the log from your own.

I think there is a lot of privilege to go all around: Black privilege, white privilege, American privilege, European Privilege, rich privilege, poor privilege, etc. Everyone is privileged in some way or another and has God-given abilities that manifest as a privilege.

Majority privilege isn't based on race..
And recognizes that situational differences will occur even within the same community...
Also, it doesn't extend outside of given perimeters... For example, the majority privilege I might experience in America would not occur in China or India or Nigeria or Saudi Arabia...
And by developing systems to combat this false premise we leave ourselves open to toxic ideologies that further divide and devalue us as individual citizenship within a greater community...

I would answer by asking this: if another ethnic group/race were in the majority, would you still call it ‘white privilege’? Or would it be termed “XXXX Privilege”?

When I think of privilege I basically think of a cast like system. I guess that system was in place during slavery and much of the time after. It wasn't so much a color thing but a class thing. Many rich people have always looked down or taken advantage of poor people. See the days of early coal mining. I feel like for me personally to have white privilege my lot in life would depend on the work of others considered below me, to my advantage. Hasn't happened yet.
