I had a fantastic dark beer for a small brewery on a little island off the coast of Scotland. I can't remember the brewery name but the beer was named Dark Island.

Yes. Today they have all manner of flavored malts and seltzers. Yuck.

I actually like Chinese beer. I think the oldest continuously operating brewery in the United States was started by a Chinese person? Can't remember the name and I'm not going to do a search for it. It's not that important to me.

America’s first commercial brewery was started by the Dutch West India Company on lower Manhattan in 1632. The first beers in the colonies were British-style ales: stouts, bitters, and pale ales. In the 1770s, British brewers began brewing a new style of ale called a porter.

Yeungling. Year Founded: 1829. Founder(s): David Yuengling. Location: Pottsville, Pennsylvania. …
Pabst Brewing Company. Year Founded: 1844. Founder(s): Jacob Best. Location: Los Angeles, …
Minhas Craft Brewery. Year Founded: 1845. Founder(s): Mr. Bissinger. Location: Monroe, Wisconsin. …
Anheuser-Busch. Year Founded: 1852. Founder(s): Eberhard Anheuser and Adolphus Busch. …

Ahhhhh!!! I don't know about the rest, but Boone's Farm Is not wine at all, it's malt liquor!
After 5minutes of research, all the other brands mentioned actually ARE wines.

Which is the oldest continuously operating brewery in America. Not the Dutch West India Company is it? Is it still in business?

Yeungling was Chinese. And is still operating.

No one said Annie Greensprings was a wine. Sorry if I confused you by including it in that shortlist referring to the swill we boomers used to drink in the 1960s and 1970s. We were talking about beers, wines, malts, and beverages in general. Yes, the other's listed could be euphemistically referred to as wines, but they really sucked.

The Smithonian Magazine say that a German immigrant named David G. Yuengling started the brewery in 1829 under the name Eagle.
It's actually not Chinese owned but is still in the Yuengling family. Robert Yuengling, Jr. Is the present sole owner.
The Dutch West India Company established a colony in America on Manhatten Island called New Amsterdam in 1624. It was conquered by the British in the mid 1660s and renamed New York, after the Duke of York.

Okay, I stand corrected.

What ultimately happened to the Dutch West India Company brewery.?

Yeah, I know, it sounds Chinese but I was forced to learn otherwise some years ago. I was pronouncing it wrong and got severely corrected.

Is that suppose to be an insult or a compliment?

I really don't know. I couldn't find anything about it. The company I mentioned was a Dutch trading company, ( I seem to have a recollection of that in school). New Amsterdam covered parts of present-day New York, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey. Evidentially, they got into it with the Brits and the king's men won!
That's all I could find out.
