You are probably right, RW nut jobs prefer death threats, bombs, biological agents and/or guns, whether being shot at people or just carried menacingly. Both sides need to mellow out really. There is no need to get so worked up. Violence solves nothing. That said...
If I were to speculate as to which side has the more honorable reasons/justifications for peaceful protests (many of them on both sides ARE peaceful protests) or piss poor, unreasonable and/or unlawful behavior, immoral, unethical, illegal, illogical, racist use of excessive force and/or killing minorities by law enforcement, whether the victim is actually guilty of CURRENT, NOT PAST criminal acts or not... That in my book IS a good reason for a REASONABLE, PEACEFUL protest, just not violent or destructive protest. Past criminality is NOT a good reason to harass, use excessive force and/or kill someone that is not engaged in a criminal activity other than being engaged in (insert LEGAL activity here) while a minority. Past criminality is also NOT justification to harass, use excessive force and/or kill a minority now. Engaging in legal acts while a minority isn't even supposed to be a criminal act period, much less a capitol offense. One can also remind others that IF someone commits a crime, they are entitled to a trial and to have a jury of their peers or at least a judge decide upon their guilt and to receive a fair sentence if convicted, even if they ARE a minority.
Protesting someone just because they ran in an election against "your hero", that is what YOUR ballot is for. No need to protest someone else's ballot, no need to protest the other candidates' audacity to run against your candidates. Or is there something that I missed? Is Biden/Harris planning to disband or outlaw the Republican party or maybe all parties other than their own? Have they promised to do away with open and fair elections? What has their ticket promised/threatened to do that is so protest worthy?
Since Biden/Harris haven't DONE anything yet, other than run, there really isn't anything to protest yet. The last I knew, candidates are allowed to run for government offices and typically, most people will allow them to exercise that right WITHOUT undue harassment. How often do we hear of candidates being harassed just for running for office?
As unhinged as many alt-right media personalities, Youtube personalities and Trump supporters have acted... One could say wariness is just plain practical. If you were driving about and someone just started stalking you, wouldn't you confront them or at the least, call the police? When people act irrationally, wariness IS warranted.
