If the 17th amendment is repealed then state legislature elections will just become more corrupt.

Yes. And every two years those people come up for re-election.

That's what immediately touchable meant.

6 years in Washington is too long. The 17th was passed by the same people who gave us the IRS and income taxes. You don't actually think the 17th was meant by that bunch of crooks to be a good thing?

It was subtle trick. Repeal it and deal with the statehouses. It's closer to home.

Republican appointees on the Supreme Court came to the extra constitutional conclusion that corporations were to be treated as people and that money was equivalent to speech. This was cemented in the Citizens United decision that effectively eliminates any campaign finance reform or transparency. The republicans loved this as corporate money poured into their campaigns unchecked. Now that Trump is toxic and the Democrats are beating the republicans two to one fundraising they understand the ramifications.

Trump isn't toxic, you guys are just traitors. Just because your a Zero male is no reason to hate Alpha males.

Undo the Wilson administration and things will get better.

Let the dust settle and see how it goes, is my motto.

If you made it illegal it would just get laundered through entities in the state.

The ONLY political donation I ever made was to an out of state senate race. It was only $20 but I liked that I had a voice in another state considering it was the Senate.

The Senate was corrupted by the 17th amendment. That needs to be repealed. The only way to make money less of an issue it to make politicians more immediately touchable by the voter.

My opinion,

I'm with you. However, this means that most of the money to buy a politician does NOT come from the people who will be impacted by the candidate who was just bought by outsiders. Citizens United gave our elections to the wealthy. Someone in Congress should grow a pair and push a law that prohibits millionairesfrom buying elections.
