We have not had a dog since 1998, 16 year old mutt we had to put down, brain cancer - like losing a kid. She was a small dog, when someone asked what she was I'd say "well, we ain't entirely sure, but I think her moma was a screw tail and her daddy was a fence jumpin, traveling man". π³π³π³πππ
We love to travel and I don't want to kennel a dog, the motels now want almost as much to allow a dog as they do to allow a human. $150 and up - non-refundable, I don't care who you are, that's bull caca. Service dogs stay for free, but I won't lie (like some I have ran into) about my dog being a service dog.
Pepper hated cats, and would chase one until the cat stopped running, then Pepper would come home, acting like she had really accomplished something LOL!

It is always hurts to lose a dog.. or any pet I suppose.. the two that truly stand out are the one for most of my childhood, a true but terrific mongrel called Shep...And quite recently a fine yellow Lab called Big boy.. he knew when I was Ill and would share time with me..
Wow, that is far to much for a dog.. I recall when any pet stayed free.. guess that has been a long time..
I like the linage of your little dog...
