***but while he may or may not end the social safety net.. I do think he will try repeatedly..
>>>It isn't about eliminating the social safety net. Certainly not from a Republican or Conservative viewpoint. It is about making it a temporary safety net to give people a chance to get back on their feet and do things for themselves besides sucking on the Government teat for a life time at tax payer expense, while voting for more. Republicans are more charitable them Democrats and it is proven by net amounts given to charities on their own initiative. There are more then enough avenues available to get help and get back on their feet for just about everybody while continuing aid for those in real need, not laziness. And eliminating all of this tax money going to illegals who shouldn't be here in the first place and dependent on us. That would be a really good thing.
***I expect effectively ending the ACA, by actions or by starving the beast.. which is being very effective for him and gets little recognition.
>>>That would be a good thing. Then replace it with a comprehensive plan that both sides sit down and create without clamping onto certain buzz words and making everything about their own little niche issues. A plan for America.
***he will move toward more isolation of America and discontinue more trade practices.. the support of NATO and other alliances will be ended.
>>>It was never about isolation but making America independent by loosening the chains around American ingenuity. We will have more trade alliances that aren't raping America and destroying our economy. NATO? NATO is and has been loosing its relevance as a deterrent to Russia for a long time and are more of a threat to Russia then the other way around. Hence, Russia's hostility towards the west. President Trump at least did the right thing and demanded that they support their own defense. Russia is not the enemy, China and Iran and militant Islam are. By slowly withdrawing from NATO, Russia will be less likely or in need of moving toward a militant position and more likely ready to open more trade with Europe.

seems as if every time this comes up on OPP, someone will post more or less what you have just posted..
A list of very reasonable changes the everyone can agree on.. but the people in government which you have place never do that.. for them it is destroy it all and do away with everything needed by the non-wealthy part of America..
You think the welfare rolls are filled with life time users? OK, propose a change, including how-to get that job done. and a reminder, facts fail to agree with your claim about most on welfare..
never have the trump forces come up with any kind of replacement for the ACA.. never have they supported anything which removes the preexisting condition refusal of acceptance.. which I will add, kept me uninsured for 5 years.. damn, I have strong feelings about national health care..
First, trump does not seem to understand international trade.. it is not a one for one equation.. we buy a bunch of widgets from country A, put em in thing a ma jigs and sell some to countries B and C,,, but not to A.. we make money, A makes money B and C make money of fill a need.. everyone is happy.. not equal but happy..
NATO... they made an agreement under President Obama to pay a% of gross production.. under trump they said only that Yes, they would pay as agreed.. trump grabbed that as his own work.. like every other time he had nothing to do with it..
Putin and Russia are very much an enemy of America.. they prove this every day by violations of air space. provocation in the ME, demand/threats to occupy the Baltic states, support of Iran and occupation of former US bases in the ME.. The fact that Putin has trump as his pet is not a good point for the United States.. it is only one more reason we have become the butt of so many jokes in the Russian press and around the world..
ending NATO would be a huge mistake.. remember that in all the history of the pact the only country which called on NATO to act and received it was the United States.. would like to be alone in our world adventures?
I do agree that China, Iran, militant Islam are enemies, of most of the world in fact. but you should also include Saudi Arabia.. after all they have killed more Americans than any other middle eastern state, not even Afghan can match them..
