Every one strong enough to lift a gun should be required by law to carry one at all times. It should further be requried that all persons with disputes settle said disputes within two minuites, If those disputes cannot be settled within the required time frame the disputants should be further required to draw down on one another and commencec blasting. Think of the benifits of such a law. No more urban sprawl, traffic jams, smaller class sizes in public schools, no more smog, affordable housing. ect,ect,ect.

As a matter of fact I hate guns. They are only good for one thing killing things. When I was a boy I took some of my paper route money and bought my self a Red Ryder BB gun. One day I walked out into an Apricot orchard looking for something to shoot. There was a flock of song birds filtering about among the trees. I started shooting at them and very soon I became a deadeye. I could kill one with every shot. I was having a really good time but after a while I noticed, I didn't hear the birds singing any more. And there were no more birds to kill. I walked around to see how many I had killed and counted 43 dead songbirds. And there was no more singing to be heard in that orchard, and then It dawned on me what I had done and I felt mortified for what I'd done.

I don't know what ever happened to that BB gun but I never touched it again. I have a brother in law that is a gun lover. He keeps his guns in a gun safe that one would keep their gold in. Like other gun lovers he likes to take them out and feel them run his hands over them caress them like a man feel a beautiful woman. Hand them to you to feel. I said no thanks I don't want to touch it. There is no other nation on earth that I can think of that love their guns like the US. As for the woman that shot those guy's I doubt she is a Republican, less than three in a hundred are. She needs a gun in the world that conservatives have created over the last 40 years, a dog eat dog society, every man for his self. Hurray for me and screw you.

To know who ran what city if they are broke, crime infested, and full of corruption you can bet your bottom dollar it has been ran by Democrats. With over 70 members of Congress all Democrats and all members of the Socialist Party in America how any real American can call himself a Democrat is beyond belief. Maybe being a Democrat you can answer a question I have yet to get an answer from my Democrat Representative who is co-chairman of this Socialist group. Detroit was always an affluent blue collar town. Until the race riots of the 1960's and the Caucasian tax base fled to the suburbs. The auto industry blocked a public transportation system so that meant if you had three people in a family worked that meant three cars and that's the way they wanted it. However they failed to look ahead to the demand for smaller, fuel efficient cars and continued to make large gas guzzling Suva's to maximize profits and pay out large bonuses to their executives.
Now, well meaning people will blame the unions for making too high a wage and for causing them to go bankrupt, but that's not the entire story. I blame the companies themselves for not planning ahead, recognizing that with the erratic situation in the Middle East, smaller more gas efficient cars would be the way of the future. They were already there and had the car market sewn up, and if they had changed course and given the people what they wanted and needed, I believe they would have remained viable. But they sacrificed long range health for the easy buck and now they are paying the price for it, or I should say that the Detroit worker is paying the price.

There is no doubt that the ratio of union salaries and retirement benefits of the American worker grew out of proportion to the profit of the automobiles sold, and trying to compete with a foreign company that is not unionized is almost impossible, but the establishment of unions was a necessity in the beginning of the automobile industry. They originated to balance working hours, salaries and decent working conditions. I remember my father in-law telling me that before there were unions, workers at the Ford plant were striking for better conditions and Henry Ford, Sr. sent goons with baseball bats to beat them up literally in the line. All they wanted was a livable wage and decent working conditions; if they could have negotiated that successfully, there would have been no need for unions. Eventually, they were successful and GM & Chrysler were forced to accept unions as well.

Was Detroit Democratic in those days? Yes. Is it Democratic now? Well, the city proper is now almost all African-American, many on welfare, so I would say that it still is, but it has always been the automobile companies that controlled the city and surrounding suburbs because it's a one industry town. So goes the automobile industry, so goes the health of Detroit.

There is not much hope from that party in today's world but at least there are few in that party Elizabeth Warren being one example that will still stand up for the working class stiff.
