If Trump cannot delay the election or suspend it by declaring Marshall Law, he has a backup plan with the head of the USPS over mail-in vote
The mail-in vote that Trump says will be “FRAUDULENT” without a shred of proof, will be held up by closures of post offices and limiting deliveries. And that will make initial the vote tally on Election Day open to debate or question.
The USPS is, as are public schools, a cornerstone to democracy. Without it millions and millions of American will lose a vital source of unobstructed communications, and not dependent on private companies that can hinder the free flow of ideas by isolating certain communities or making it cost prohibitive
The U.S. Postal Service is considering closing post offices across the country, sparking concerns ahead of an anticipated surge of mail-in ballots in the 2020 elections. The possible cutbacks come as DeJoy, a major donor to President Donald Trump who took control of the agency last month, moves to eliminate overtime for hundreds of thousands of postal workers, potentially causing a delay in mail deliveries. A recent document from the Postal Service, obtained by The Associated Press, described the need for an “operational pivot” to make the cash-strapped agency financially stable.
“It’s just asinine to think that you can shut something down or throttle it back in terms of the pandemic when basically the lifeline for voting and democracy is going to be in the hands of the Postal Service,” Manchin, a Democrat, told reporters Wednesday.
USPS Postmaster General and CEO Louis DeJoy has been a top donor to Trump and the Republican National Committee, and he was in charge of fundraising for the 2020 Republican National Convention.
Trump has sharply criticized the Postal Service, calling it a "joke" that loses "massive amounts of money." Trump has also been against giving the Postal Service any financial lifelines during the COVID-19 pandemic and even went as far as to threaten to veto any congressional measures that included aid for it.

Okay, think of what it would mean if there was no open communication network to every corner of the country. The Postal Service is an integral part of the federal government, providing all Americans—in urban and rural areas and every community in between—with universal access to its network and services. Americans rely on the Postal Service to receive mail-in ballots, jury summons, census information and prescription drugs. Are you going to post your mail-in ballot to UPS or Fedex? They can service where they want, and can limit service. There is no mailbox in America to deliver or send these ballots. Without the Postal Service, we are at the mercy, and extra expense, of private companies.
